I had one of my advanced trumpet students try this mute out and he said that he can’t play below C very well at all. Bright sound. Mute is very well built. For the price (2 for $6.99), they are suitable for young trumpet players who aren’t playing muted parts below C. Fit well and did not fall out. These trumpet mutes are perfect for beginning trumpet players and students that are in school bands. They are small, compact, and store easily in trumpet cases that have limited storage space. The mutes fit well in the bells and don't fall out. I like them since they muffle the sound quite a bit and make practicing at home better for everyone. I definitely recommend these mutes, especially since they come in a pack of two, and for the price ($14.99 at the time of review) you can't go wrong!

Not a practice mute, but it deadens my horns enough that I doubt my neighbors mind it now.

The media could not be loaded. First, excuse the sound quality and some of my fumbles in the video. I didn't edit the sound, and I only did one take for each of the mutes to give a fair play to each of the brands. I swear I'm a more competent player than what this video seems! These mutes are fine. They aren't quiet enough to really be considered practice mutes, but they aren't terrible straight mutes. The tone is a little bright to blend with a mixed group, and the intonation gets weird in the lower register. They seem fairly sturdy, they are a decent value, and they could do fine in the right setting. There's a significant amount of back pressure compared to the other mutes in my video, likely because of how small they are. That being said, I will likely shave the corks of one of the two and use it as a piccolo mute because it fits nicely.
