The canvas did come with the outline of the people. I have never bought one of these before, but I've been to paint and sip events. Usually there's an instructor who tells you how to paint to get certain effects. I tried my best, but I was struggling with the shading. The kit with everything one would need to paint. I loved it!!! I got it for a cute chill night for me and my boyfriend and we enjoy vibing and painting this , it’s was a complete set, wish canvas was a little bigger , but it came with paint , brushes, paint pallet, and a photo to go by definitely 10/10 great quality
