Not impressed. These will barely help a 4' fence post, definitely not a 6'. I would go with the solid steel versions instead.

I got this because the post on one side of the backyard gate was getting a little wobbly. I don't think it was going to get to the point where it fell down, but it was making it an adventure to get the latch for the gate locked. This kit comes with everything you need to put it together, but once you get outside you need a cordless drill and a hammer or mallet. Not difficult to put together at all. The hardest part was hammering the brace into the ground on both sides. Make sure that you are not getting in the way of the gate itself. It definitely made a difference for my situation. The post didn't move hardly at all when before it was doing the limbo before. Bottom line is that it is alot more stable as well makes it much easier to latch the gate closed.

This is a great concept but the size is just not conducive to repairing a heavy 6foot privacy fence post. We had a fence post that was broken due to last years hurricane so I had thought this would be a great way to temporarily repair it until I could get a new post installed. We followed the instructions and pulled the post upright and attached the now fully inserted repair post. The moment we released the fence it simply pulled the post over. This will probably work great for short fences under 4feet but the weight is too much for the distance the prongs go into the soil and the height of the plate. I took away a star as the ad has pics of it being used on 6foot fences when it clearly cannot handle them.

Works fairly ok.Would of been stronger if the part that attaches to the 4x4 post was actually 4 inches wide.This to me would of given the post more stability.Also if the ground anchor was longer.The design of the ground anchor allows it to be hammered into the ground fairly easy.Comes complete with screws,drill bits and a few more pieces of hardware.

I've used fence post stakes and anchors with a lot of success. I'm a fan, they're easy to repair, and saves you the effort of concrete. But I'm not a huge fan of these. I also find them a bit expensive compared to other solutions. They're thinner than other products I've used. I question whether the hardware is weatherproof. This comes in 2 pieces, which is less stable than products that are one piece. Also the bolts holding the 2 pieces together will touch the ground, which is a bad design. The finish is matte black, which confuses me. I'm not sure how weatherproof the finish is. It definitely will show oil stains, things like that. A high gloss finish is always best. I'm thinking of hitting them with spray paint. In my judgment these are good for a little support for a weak 4 foot or even 6 foot post that is starting to wobble. But it will not correct one that is broken, leaning badly, or rotted off. There are better products for that. Also realize there are a few extra steps if your post is set in concrete. You will not be able to pound this into a concrete footing, you will need to pull it out at least 4 inches, maybe more. One way to do this is find a scrap piece of 4x4, at least 20 inches, and attach it to the bottom of your bad post, to act as a spacer. Then attach the anchor to the spacer. Perhaps an easier (and definitely more permanent) way to correct a leaning 4x4 post without replacing it: Get a 4x4 post anchor, and pound it in about 10 inches from your bad post. Then tie the two together with some 10 inch 2x4's. You can turn it into a tool holder, a plant holder, etc.
