These cute valances are described as burlap/gingham but I think they look and feel more like a heavyweight woven cotton. When I think of burlap, I think of the thin flimsy fabric...and gingham is checkered...and these valances are neither. These valances are well constructed and sewn. The fabric is not sheer, more mid weight. They are not lined as indicated in the description. Before hanging, I washed in cold water on delicate and dried on low for 25 minutes...they came out beautiful! If I want more of a “crisp” look, I can touch them up with a low temp iron, but I hung them up right out of the dryer. If you need a casual, simple valance, these are perfect. ... show more
