Used this satin black to wrap the door handles, camera/turn signals, and chrome deleted the pillar. Sticks great and is easily stretched to fit. Wonderful adhesion, but doesn't hurt to add some 3m adhesion promoter for some of the high wear places.

Quality is good, adhesion is good, color is right. Installation is user error if you have an issue. Thickness is perfect. Has A clear plastic thin film over the vinyl beside to remove before cutting as it is a pain in the ass todo so while installing. For anyone who has a MB Coupe you will need 2 rolls as 25’ did not work for all trim. Also the knife it comes with is trash get an Xacto knife or whatever they’re called works best. ... show more

I bought a few different kinds of this stuff to see what worked best. First of all, this stuff is very expensive (at least to me it is) but I found that out of 3 different types of vinyl, this was stretchy and has almost like micro holes in it so that the bubbles can escape. I was skeptical at first application because I couldn't get 100% of the bubbles out, but after a bout a week on it has worked itself out to be nice and smooth. It really looks nice. Better than the two lesser quality that are having trouble sticking in the corners and aren't as easy to work with. I think im going to tear off the others and redo them with genuine 3m 1080. Be careful when purchasing this stuff. It needs to say "3M 1080" on the roll. Otherwise, I wouldn't use it. ... show more

I previously installed a Vvivid vinyl blackout kit on my trim. It was somewhat difficult to install and required a bunch of heating to follow the contours of the window trim, but it worked. After a few months, it shrank back, and after a year it was peeling off. I can't speak to the longevity of the 3M vinyl, but the installation bodes well. The 3M material feels thicker but is more flexible, requiring no heat to follow the contours of my windows. Since it didn't need to be heated, it didn't shrink back after a month of temperature fluctuations. The adhesive feels stronger and the process was easier. The knife provided is useless for anything but cutting yourself. I recommend taping it shut and tossing it. Squeegees are always good to have, but on something this narrow you probably don't need one. Just buy a roll long enough for extra because the process takes time and patience. You'll likely mess up one or two sections along the way. Knifeless tape is a game-changer so you don't need to put a sharp knife against your chrome plastic. Watch some tutorials, prep your surface, take your time, apply in a warm, clean environment, and be kind/patient with yourself if you're not intimately familiar with vinyl wrapping. ... show more

Initailly, looks good. Overtime, it loses its gloss and I'm going to replace it after 2.5 years. It looks pretty bad now. Maybe if you park inside it would probably last longer.
