  • Great Charger
Size: 4-Bank
This charger appears to be very well built. The cord lengths are perfect because they're not too short that you have to extend them unless you're trying to reach a battery in the rear or front of the boat and they're not too long that you end up with 8 ft of 4 cords bundled up in zip ties on top of the batteries. To get the charger to remember the battery type you have the HOLD the button down after selecting the battery type. It you don't do this it will default to lead acid every time. ... show more

  • Fast charger, marine grade, has dead battery revive function, short cord
Size: 2-Bank
I got the KAISAL 2 Bank Marine Battery Charger 12V 20A(10A/Bank). This is for 3 different types of batteries - LiFePo4, traditional Lead Acid, and NCM (Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese, which is a common type of lithium-ion or li-ion battery). There is no setting for SLA/AGM batteries, or for Calcium & Deep-Cycle Batteries. Also, it does not automatically select the battery type. You must select the battery type each time, which is the only external control on the charger (no on/off, for example -- it's always on when plugged in). I do wish the selector buttons were a bit larger and easier to read. There is much to like about this charger. It charges the batteries separately and independently, so I can charge my main boat battery and my trolling motor battery at the same time. After the battery is full, it switches to maintenance mode, where it is off unless/until the battery drops below 80%. This is slightly different than other styles of trickle chargers that give a steady 5 watts to keep the battery topped off. It has intelligent stepped charging, which will hopefully keep the batteries healthy. And it can wake dead batteries, which is one of my favorite features. There is no setting for repair mode, I don't fully understand how it works, but the manual indicates it detects and attempts repair of dead batteries automatically. This is definitely something I will appreciate having when the need arises. I don't expect it to repair every dead battery, but I have had batteries get too low over the winter, or just get too depleted (such as on the trolling motor), so hopefully this can occasionally save me the expense of replacing a dead battery. My other favorite feature is the fast charging, up to 10 amps per port. My other marine charger is just 5 amps per port, so this one is twice as fast. My lead acid/AGM battery charger is 6 amps. Since each port operates independently, you can have two different sized batteries -- and even two different type batteries -- on at the same time. This is useful for my situation where I have a couple small LiFePo4 batteries for the trolling motor, and a lead acid for the main battery. In the past I have carried the LiFePo4 batteries inside for charging, but this charger enables me to leave them in the boat. So far I have only used this on a 50 amp lead acid battery. It charged to full in about 5.5 hours, whereas my 6 amp charger usually takes about 10 hours, and my 5 amp charger usually takes about 12 hours. This is marine rated, but since it covers lead acid batteries can also charge my car battery and lawn mower battery. However, this is really intended to be installed in your bilge area. It comes with ring terminals only, intended for permanent installation (no alligator clips or alternate connector types). It has mounting holes, but does not come with mounting hardware. It's about 10 inches x 12 inches, and about 5 inches tall. It will require a little bit of extra clearance, for cords and also a little room to breathe. It's a pretty heft unit, weighing about 5.5 pounds. It feels very durable, and the body is all aluminum. One thoughtful thing about the layout of the battery is that the power cord is mounted on the side of the charger instead of the top. This makes for easier cord management compared to my other charger where the power cord is mounted on the top and therefore needed to be mounted sideways. However, do keep in mind that the power cord comes out on the left, so plan ahead -- if you park your boat to the right of your power outlet, you may have to install this upside down. The cords are about 3 feet shorter than my other marine charger, and I have to use a decent gauge extension cord to get it to reach. The output cable is a nice length, about 78 inches long, but the cord to the wall is only about 40 inches long. It is silent in operation. I do not hear or see a fan, but it does have aluminum fins in the back which likely help with heat dissipation. It gets pretty warm, especially when charging two batteries at once, but nothing concerning. I think it's a good overall value. ... show more

  • Doesn't remember your battery type set
Size: 2-Bank
Works great, bigger than expected. BIGGEST con is that it does not remember your battery option. Every single time I plug in I have to open up battery area and swap it back to LifePo. This is not convenient and a safety issue if you do forget.

  • Independent dual charging for mixed battery types plus a dead battery wake-up feature.
Size: 2-Bank
Okay, let’s look at this Kaisal 2-bank 20A marine battery charger. I run a dual-battery system where I have a modern LiFePO4 lithium battery dedicated to my trolling motor, but I still rely on a traditional lead-acid battery for starting the main engine. Previously, I was juggling two separate chargers or having to swap clamps back and forth, which was a hassle and often resulted in me forgetting to charge one of them. Well, I wanted a single onboard solution that could handle different battery chemistries simultaneously without me having to babysit the process, and this dual-bank unit seemed to fit the bill perfectly. The unit itself is a heavy-duty piece of equipment, featuring a fully sealed aluminum profile casing that feels incredibly rugged. Since it is rated IP67 waterproof, it is designed specifically to live in the damp, harsh environment of a boat bilge or engine compartment. The main feature here is the independent dual-bank charging - it pushes a solid 10 Amps to each channel, allowing for a total output of 20 Amps. What makes this smart is that each bank operates in isolation, meaning I can select the lithium profile for one side and lead-acid for the other. It also boasts a "0V Wake Up" feature, which is essential for lithium batteries if the BMS shuts them down due to low voltage, as well as a float mode that monitors voltage rather than just constantly trickle charging. Setting this up on the boat was a satisfying project. I mounted it vertically near my transom, and the first thing I noticed was how substantial the aluminum heatsink feels. In practice, the charging speed is significantly faster than my old 5-Amp maintainers. I can get my trolling motor battery topped off in roughly half the time it used to take. I really like that it operates in total silence since there are no cooling fans to whir or fail over time. The interface is simple enough, using a button to toggle between battery types, and it remembers my selection for the next time I plug it in. It gives me peace of mind knowing I can leave it plugged in during the off-season, and it will only kick in when the battery level drops below a certain threshold, rather than constantly cooking the plates. I do have a few minor gripes that potential buyers should know about. The most frustrating thing is the length of the AC power cord - it is surprisingly short, measuring only about 40 inches. Unless you mount this right next to your outlet, you are absolutely going to need a heavy-duty extension cord. Also, while the unit has mounting holes, it didn't come with any screws or bolts, so I had to rummage through my garage to find the right hardware. You also need to be aware that it runs quite warm to the touch because the case acts as the heat sink, so you need to ensure it has a little breathing room. To wrap things up, this charger has streamlined my post-fishing routine immensely. It is a robust, well-built unit that handles the complexities of mixed-battery systems with ease. The waterproofing inspires confidence, and the independent charging channels mean I no longer worry about one battery being overcharged while the other catches up. Despite the short power cord, the performance and build quality make this a fantastic upgrade for anyone with a boat or RV. Bottom line: If you are juggling multiple batteries on your boat or RV, this Kaisal 2-bank 20A marine battery charger is a serious problem solver. The ability to charge a lithium battery on one bank and a standard lead-acid on the other simultaneously is incredibly useful. It is built like a tank with a fully sealed aluminum body, so I do not worry about water damage in the bilge. Just keep in mind that the power cord is quite short, so you will likely need an extension cable. It charges quickly at 10 Amps per side and operates completely silently. For the price, this is a robust and reliable maintenance solution. Excellent 5-star product in my book, highly recommended! Pros: 1. Charges two batteries independently at once. 2. Waterproof aluminum casing is very durable. 3. Ten Amps per bank charges quickly. 4. Works with lithium and lead acid. 5. Wake up function revives dead batteries. 6. Silent operation with no fan noise. 7. Memory function remembers last battery settings. 8. Heat sink design dissipates heat well. 9. Cables for battery connection are long. 10. Excellent value for a marine charger. Cons: 1. Power cord is annoyingly short length. 2. Mounting hardware is not included here. ... show more
