  • Nice training skates for a toddler
Color: Blue
This comes as pictured and described. The skates have two blades, one on either side, already attached and ready to go. The black straps come separate from the skates, but the directions tell you how and where to attach them. They slide underneath the skate, so you don’t have to worry about them becoming detached from the skate itself. The skate lengthens if needed to adapt to a growing child’s foot, and there are screws/bolts to tighten so that it stays at that length and doesn’t slip longer/shorter while in use. The package also comes with the single blades to install in the center of the skate to transition the child to skating on real skates, and there are clear instructions on how to install them. The double blades stay on the skate when you use the single blades. It seems like the single blades are just slightly longer than the double blades so that they can practice their balance on single blades, but if they lean over a bit too much, they still have the double blades to help stabilize them. We haven’t been able to try them out yet since it’s still in the 70s where I live and there aren’t any temporary ice skating rinks up for another month or so. Will update once we’re able to try them out. ... show more

  • Smart Beginner Skates That Grow With Your Toddler
Color: Black
We haven’t had the chance to test these on real ice yet since the rinks around here haven’t opened for the season, but just from inspecting and fitting them, I’m impressed. These toddler ice skates are solidly built — the plastic frame feels sturdy, and the double-blade setup offers great stability for first-timers. The design makes total sense: kids can start with the double-blade for balance training, then switch to a single blade as their confidence grows. The adjustable length is a big win — it expands easily to accommodate growing feet, which saves having to replace them mid-season. The velcro straps are thick and secure, with plenty of adjustability to fit over small boots or thicker winter shoes. They’re easy enough for an adult to tighten but strong enough to keep everything snug and supportive. They’re also lightweight, which helps with balance for little legs that are still figuring things out. The zinc-plated blades are smooth and uniform — no rough edges or misalignment, which you sometimes see on budget kids’ gear. For now, we’ve just practiced “walking” around indoors on carpet to get a feel for the balance, and they’re stable and comfortable. I can tell they’ll be a great starting point for learning real skating skills once we hit the ice this winter. Overall, a clever, durable training tool that makes the early stages of skating way less intimidating for toddlers. ... show more

  • Meh
Color: Blue
There are definitely pros and cons about these ice skates. Pros: They are easy to adjust, I like the double blade that will help my youngest learn how to ice skate, they are sturdy, they will fit all my kids so they can all use them if they are having difficulties ice skating, switching to one blade is super easy. Cons - they are dull. There are no sharp edges so they will slide to the side. Luckily my husband can sharpen them. ... show more

  • clever skates for toddlers
Color: Blue
I am giving four stars because we have not yet used them on the ice and I can not comment about how well they work. I do like the design for how they strap onto shoes and how you can adjust the sizing and the blades. It comes with intructions for putting them together etc. We look forward to our toddler kiddo learning to skate and being on the ice with her older siblings. ... show more

  • What a great idea!!
Color: Blue
These toddler ice skates are perfect! They are made of sturdy materials and can be worn with two blades initially, and one blade once the child grows accustomed to the ice. They can be worn over shoes or boots and are held on by two sturdy velcro straps. The blades are easy to install and reconfigure from two blades to one. We are waiting for the pond to freeze over in order to give these a try. In the meanwhile, these highly adjustable ice skates are perfect for a beginner! The length of the skates is easily adjustable by loosening and tightening a couple of screws. When using single blade mode, the two outer blades help ensure stability while the single blade extends a little bit longer than the two outer blades. These ice skates are perfect and they have thought of everything to make ice skating possible and safer for little ones! ... show more

  • Fantastic skates for kids!
Color: Black
We got these as we are planning multiple ice skating trips this year. There are a number of ice skating rinks open around us we are looking forward to taking our kids out and teaching them this new skill! We have not used them yet, but I feel confident our kids will learn quickly with these. They already fit our kids existing shoes extremely well. They feel very durable. I'm worried about getting the velcro tight enough to grip their shoes, but it should be enough for them to get started with ice skating. I see us using the two blade configuration as opposed to the one blade configuration more often. But I like the idea of the single blade with a "training wheels" style setup. There are good instructions in the box, and these are easy to change configuration. Overall I feel confident these will work extremely well for us! ... show more

  • Adjustable for shoe size as well as for skill level
Color: Black
I got these for my toddler grandson who seems like he might get into hockey when he's a little older. He already hits his plastic balls with his hockey stick so the next logical step would be to get him on the ice. I appreciate the fact that the skates are adjustable to fit a variety of shoe styles he has or will have as he grows. The extra blades will surely come in handy too. He can use the double blades when starting out and covert to the single blade as he progresses which means you don't have to buy another pair of skates down the road. The skates seem sturdy and well made and I thought the price was quite reasonable. Honestly the hardest part will be finding a sheet of ice around where he lives. Too bad there aren't more natural frozen ponds or lakes for him to learn on. ... show more
