  • Exceptional choice for a beginner
Size: 16Key
We got this for a brand new flute player (5th grade) but it was tested out by two adults who have played flute for a long time. It's GORGEOUS, like it looks like it belongs in a symphony. (Or maybe we adults are just used to our very old flutes, lol!) The adults who tested it confirmed that the tone is perfectly adequate for a beginning flutist. You wouldn't mistake it for a super high-end flute, but it's really, really nice for the price. It's easy to use for a newbie. Very responsive keys. The 5th grader is in love, and it is beyond the standards for her school band, so that's a winner in our book! ... show more

  • Nice looking flute
Size: 16Key
I don’t play flute but my kids want to explore musical instruments so I got them this flute. I did go on Youtube to learn how to connect and operate this instrument since it doesn’t come with assembly or playing instructions . There is a lot of educational videos on the flute, how to assemble and how to play and surprisingly this item produces very decent sounds; it will certainly take time and practice but I love how this flute look and sound ... show more

  • Very adequate beginner flute with an extremely well-appointed carrying case
Size: 16Key
I'm honestly almost more impressed with the case than with the instrument itself. It comes with everything you need to get your new flute up and running, and to maintain it well, and it has lots of pockets, nooks, and crannies to file everything away neatly. It has a durable and smooth zipper closure and a fabric exterior which is protective and supportive of the flute inside. The flute itself is a perfectly adequate learner's instrument. I wouldn't expect to see something like this at the philharmonic orchestra or anything, but for a beginner who isn't even sure if they'll stay with it, this is just right, and well affordable. Take note that this is a 16-key instrument with an offset G key. That is not globally standardised; flutes can come in several configurations, and you'll want to make sure you're getting the exact thing you intend, so do your research! ... show more

  • Decent beginners flute
Size: 16Key
I have never played the flute before. I tried playing this and so far I haven't been able to get the embouchure right. At first I thought maybe there was something wrong with it because if I flip it 180 so it's going the wrong way I can get it somewhat right but I had a friend that plays look at it and they think it's something I'm doing wrong. They were able to play it and get what they said was a pretty decent tone for this level of flute but also said it wasn't the highest quality flute for a beginner. In fairness to this flute they considerably over guessed the cost. I haven't had much free time of late but I'm going to keep working with it and see if I can improve my form. Going by my friends observations I would say this flute might be a good choice if your funds are limited and especially if you're not extremely serious about playing the flute, more just a try and see how it goes. ... show more

  • Not Getting Sounds
Size: 16Key
I'm having some of the same issues as other reviewers. This flute looks beautiful and is packaged well. The case is nice, and so are the extra accessories. However, at the end of the day the sound isn't working for me. If there is some magical way to assemble it that I'm missing, I couldn't tell you. It seems self explanatory on putting it together but there aren't actual instructions included. So no matter how I do it, it's just blowing air. No musical sounds at all. I suspect it isn't sealing properly, but as a true beginner, that is just a best guess. ... show more

  • Great Intro Flute
Size: 16Key
This flute reminds me a lot of the one I had when I was a kid, I grew up in a very musical household (dad was a pro classical musician) and I dabbled with a bunch of instruments before I settled on the French Horn, one of those was a flute. I wanted to pick up an instrument again after years of not playing and decided since I live in an apartment that a flute would be quiet enough that my neighbors don't hate me (not the case with brass instruments) I barely remember any fingerings, so mostly I was testing it for functionality and sound. It does not have that well rounded warm sound that you get from a pro level flute, and that is fine since this is clearly for learning and it does have a very nice sound, it isn't like training on a recorder or something like that, it is a flute and it sounds like one. The keys react with a proper level of bounce, none of them get stuck and there is no air leakage around the joints or when keys are pressed down. The case is phenomenal, if I decide to upgrade I am keeping this case because it is so nice, so much better than the hard case I had my old flute in. ... show more

  • Good quality beginner flute
Size: 16Key
I am an experienced musician but all of my experience is with string instruments, and a harmonica. The flute assembled just fine, and seems to be a sturdy quality.
