This is a great starter pack of tinsel and tools. It does not come with pliers. I took my husband’s, but you can buy pliers specifically for hair beads. Once you get the hang of it, these are easy to use and install. I recommend using the hooped tool over the hook, as I think it’s easier. I can keep these in for 4-6 weeks without issue. They don’t crinkle or start sticking out. They hold up to heat fairly well. I run my straight iron at 380°F and it doesn’t seem to hurt them. For the money, these have a beautiful and sparkly appearance. When used with beads under the top of your hair, they are more subtle. The pack includes enough beads for multiple installs and enough tinsel for a lifetime. It’s definitely worth the money.

I am in love with this hair tinsel! It adds the perfect pop of sparkle without being too over-the-top, and it’s such an easy way to switch up your look—whether you’re going out, celebrating something, or just feeling a little extra. was surprised by how easy it is to put in! The strands are lightweight, and the kit usually comes with tools or instructions to help you tie or bead them in. Even as a beginner, I had mine in within a few minutes. Plus, they stay in place really well—some lasted through brushing, styling, and even washing. They hold up surprisingly well! Depending on how you install them, they can last anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.

I have 8 and 11 year old daughters who wanted badly some tinsel. I got this kit and it has an amazing range of colors. It also comes with 2 tools and silicone beads. Unfortunately no instructions so I had to YouTube it but we figured it out. My only reason I docked a star is the loop hair tool actually broke and the wire came out of the base on my 3rd hair bead. I glued it back in though! You will also need a crimping tool if you use the silicone beads. We just used needle nose pliers instead of buying the "special" tool. It works perfectly! The tinsel is long enough that even my daughter with XL hair can use them no problem! I have 2 happy happy girls with tinsel that has held up to showers, ponytails, gymnastics, cheer, swimming and all the activities!

I have 3 young daughters and they have medium length straight hair. I have been able to successfully hand tie 2-3 pieces of tinsel per 1 strand of hair around their heads. The tinsel seems pretty standard and is plentiful in length for our needs. It comes with 2 tools that I have no clue how to use. After watching a few youtube tutorials I was able to practice hand tying the tinsel on my daughters' hair. It is quite tedious but with practice it doesn't take too long and can last for several days or a few weeks on my oldest child. My youngest is 4 years old and has the finest hair at her age, on average her tinsel has fallen out more easily, prob due to her physical activity and the slipperiness of her hair. My oldest has straight hair that is more course and while she's had a few pieces fall out, her tinsel has stayed strong for 2 weeks. The color is still very vibrant and handles shampoo, blow dry, and swimming pool chlorine water just fine. She also ties her hair in a pony tail quite a lot and that doesn't seem to make a difference. I will say that in general when tying on my daughters' hair, they have so many baby hair strands all over their head that when I am separating their hair to pull out one strand it can get difficult to push away the baby hairs. But this has nothing to do with the hair tinsel. It is thicker that their hair strands, but even if I don't get it close enough to the scalp on the first try, I can sometimes still untie them and retry with the same strands, which is nice.

I gave this to my nieces (16 and 11) as a Christmas gift this year. They had to search the Internet to find instructions on how to put it in their hair using the tools that were provided. The tools that came with it worked well. It would've been helpful if a set of instructions had come with the product. The 2 girls also had some trouble separating individual strands of tinsel out from the package and then returning the unused strands to the package in a way that didn't turn the unused ones into a giant, tangled mess. A lot of tinsel ended up stuck to the carpet and got wasted. Some other way of packaging the tinsel would help, like maybe draping it over a piece of cardboard, the same way Christmas tree tinsel is packaged. It was kind of an entertaining and fun item though. There was a nice selection of colors.

I purchased these for as a stocking stuffer for my 6 year old. She and her friends are tinsel obsessed and this pack comes with enough tinsel for a lifetime. The kit contains almost all the tools you need-I used pliers for applying the beads to secure the tinsel. They don't stay in long, but they look adorable and are simple to apply and remove. I watched a YouTube video and mastered the application in a couple of minutes.
