Bought these to replace wooden shutters that had been on the house since it was built in 1961. They had rotted, and the slats were falling out. Replacements would have cost me between $300 and $400. Bought these, and they fit the bill! Took me about 20 minutes to install them myself with just a ladder, a power drill, and a hammer. They are lightweight, but once secured to the house, they seem secure. They are on a North facing window here in New England, so we'll see how they weather Winter storms when the wind comes from the NorthEast, but I could not be happier. From the street, they look just like the originals, and several of the neighbors have said, "Looks good" as they walk their dogs past the house. Our house came with these 6 years ago and they faded a bit, so we just bought new ones. They were so cheap and easy to install, it was totally worth it, and all the colors are nice. We'll be buying more for our new house we're moving to!

    • they are so easy to install - drill six holes in the shutter ...
They matched the green wooden ones perfectly, exactly the same size - I'm going to be buying a lot more. To add to this, they are so easy to install - drill six holes in the shutter hold in place and drill six more slightly smaller though siding, etc, - push in fasteners and give them a tap and it's done .. I times it, about 15 minutes per shutter. I'm in my 70's and this was a snap. ... show more
