Really, REALLY sparkly and shiny! Honestly, when I opened it, I was a bit disappointed because it was a lot thinner than I expected for the price. It's not SUPER thin, but it is thin. I have 4 other gold chains, and none are as thin as this one. But I really didn't know what a 1.1 mm chain would look like, I mean 1.1 mm IS pretty small. I opened it in my dark bedroom, but once I walked into my living room with it with the sun shining in my windows I fell in LOVE. This chain is by FAR the brightest, shiniest, sparkliest (not a word I don't think) gold chain I have. I am keeping it for sure, and happily! Oh, and it has a very small lobster claw clasp that I have a tough time working because it's small, I may bring it to my local jeweler and get a larger one put on...but if you are younger than 54, you'll probably do fine with it. ;) I added a pic of the chain, please ignore my old lady skin and my thyroid cancer scar...but hey, better old than dead!!! :D ... show more

Very nice quality! It is 14K white gold and is very durable and shiny. The chain that came with my diamond cross purchased at Sams Club was too delicate and broke the first time I wore it. This one is longer in lenght and very well designed - works perfect!

The chain is a box... and says 14k on it. It appears to be white gold - which is what I ordered. It has the lobster claw clasp which in my personal opinion is easier to use than the spring ring - but that is a personal choice. I was happily surprised that it weighed more than I expected. It has a slightly sparkly appearance because the "box" has shiny, reflective parts. I purchased the 18". It is as represented. I am pleased with my purchase. Having said all of that, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. ... show more

Little thinner then i thought but not used to what 1.1mm looks like. Value is pretty much what is being charged these days. Hope it is real gold. Would have to get it tested to know for sure. I was skeptical ordering a gold chain online from Amazon. But I must say I'm impressed. It is gorgeous! Just thick enough. Not bulky or super thin. Nice quality box construction and perfect for waring with any pendent. The only thing I'd say I wish could be better is the size of the Lobser claw clasp. It could be a tad bigger but it works fine. Update Sept 2024: I purchased a 14K Yellow Gold 20 Inch 1.3mm Chain for my wife. Not very pleased with this purchase. The chain was only 3.9 Grams in weight vs the Web Description of 5.2 Grams [25% Less Gold]. The chain does not lay straight. The box did not include the actual weight vs the one I ordered 5 years ago. I returned this chain as the quality has diminished! Original Purchase June 2019: My Wife Loves this Chain! This is an upgrade to her 20 inch 0.5 mm Box Chain that came with her diamond pendant. She wanted a heavier 18 inch Box Chain with a lobster clasp and this 1.3 mm Box Chain fit the bill perfectly. My measurement of the chain is 1.24 mm wide and 5.2 grams in total weight. The 14K White Gold Box Chain is clearly stamped 14K. The necklace came in a nice gift box and included the specs stamped on a plastic pouch (CH-0474-180, 14K Chain, 18 inch, 5.17 grams). This Box Chain is nearly 5.8 times heavier than the chain it replaces and still remains dainty...but seriously stronger for a nice sense of security. A very nice quality Box Chain that made this an excellent purchase! ... show more

I was able to get a pendant necklace that belonged to my mother after she passed away. The chain that she had it on was too lightweight and not too strong. I wanted to fine a white gold box chain that would be great for it. I visited several jewelry stores and they were too thin for the price that I could afford. I went to Amazon and was able to find this necklace at a reasonable price. I ordered me on and got it and the charm that belonged to my mother looks great on it.
