This is a well made, highly effective gardening tool. The quality is evident in the forged as opposed to welded head, and the effectiveness is a result of the tool’s appropriate weight (for the average gardener) and perfect balance. Worth every penny.

Sturdy for it's purpose. My daughter doesn't have any outside garden tools, but needed to weed around her duplex. She also doesn't have a storage shed, so needed something small that could do the work. This hand tiller/rake was the perfect option. It allows her to pull weeds and turn the soil. It was lighter weight, so easy to wield. However, getting the tiller head secure by hammering in the wedge wasn't made apparent - which could be confusing to a younger generation that hasn't used tools such as these.

Tools with wooden handles like this tiller/rake contraption have a heavy steel end on them. There is supposed to be a wedge that gets pounded into the end of containing the head that prevents it from flying off if you draw it back. The wedge was not installed, but rather was laying in the box. The head did not come off completely, but it was unusably shaky. I did my best to pound it in, but the steel wedge protrudes about 1/2 inch from the top. The craftmanship is not great. I like this in theory. The execution leaves a lot to be desired.

It's a decent tool. It had a good weight. It's easy to use on weeds. It remove stubborn weeds easily.

This tiller worked well, but it felt very basic. It wasn’t sturdy for the price we paid - $36.98 as of Sept 2024. The wood feels hollow and not heavy and sturdy. The head started to slide off, but we were still able to work with it by putting the head back into place. This is not the greatest tool you can get, it seemed more like a tool you’d get at a bargain big box for $10, it was hollow feeling wood. I would say this is 3 out of 5 stars, not worth the cost for the quality.

This Japanese hand tiller is a fantastic tool for working in my garden. The 3-tine cultivator design makes it easy to break up compacted soil, and the oak handle is comfortable to hold, providing good leverage. The craftsmanship is excellent—it's sturdy without being too heavy, and it makes preparing garden beds much easier. It’s also great for digging small holes for planting and chopping through roots.
