The CASIMY 12 Volt, 5 Ampere DC power supply can function as an adapter to provide DC power for many electronic devices rated for 12 VDC. The input voltage is 120 to 240 VAC, and the unit is supplied with a removable, 2-prong, conventional (USA), non-polarized, AC power cord. I measured the polarity of the DC output connector and put an adapter on it to be able to measure the supplied voltage under various resistive loads. The polarity of the output plug is positive on the center conductor and negative on the outer conductor. The results of the DC voltage as a function of current measurements are shown in the figure describing power supply performance. The power supply is a well-constructed, well-regulated DC supply, with the voltage difference from the nominal 12 VDC ranging from +0.38 VDC (no load, 0 Watts) to -0.007 VDC (at 43.5 Watts). How can the power supply be used? The advertisement has a limited list of suggested uses, but if you are mindful of required power supply polarities and can use adapters or can wire it for other uses, it has many more applications. I will use it as a power supply for amateur radio equipment requiring less than 5 Amperes at 12 volts DC. A typical application for me is powering an automatic HF antenna tuner which requires 12 to 15 VDC at about 1.5 Amperes. I got this so I can easily power all of my cameras and mounts using a single power adapter and 5amps of power is perfect for allowing me to run my Sky Watcher EQ6-R and my dew heaters!
