The media could not be loaded. I like the look and feel of the rope, and it seems very solid and stitched together properly. The plastic loops are lame, as they can stick compared to metal on metal when using metal carabiners. Also, plastic wears out faster. The carabiners are absolutely trash... maybe hang a plant on it... buy good ones as these stick open, are hard to close, and hard to open... ... show more

This is a solid good rope, could be better but great back up or secondary rope or for tree use and cutting. The things that could be better, the carabiners while solid have two things. First, The twist goes all the way up to the top they don't have those slide down quick releases. This means you twist them all the way up and then have to twist them all the way down to then open. Second, the way they lock into place is not super smooth. They are threaded all the way like a bolt and are cut to fit into the opposite part, this can catch a bit and I worry if the threads get damages it might cause problems down the line in locking and unlocking. Really want these to open and close smoothly and quickly each and every time and they can catch a bit. The bushing on eyelet on the rope is plastic and pops out kind of easy. This won't last as long or protect the rope like metal would. The rope is stiffer then some but other than those things it seems well made. The weave is tight and the rope is free of any defects I can see. After all can you have too many ropes? The answer to that is no, you can never have too many ropes. This one serves a purpose and can fill certain needs I just wouldn't use this as my first choice or go to for use on my person. Lines for tree cutting, ties downs, guide ropes? Perfect choice. Coming out of the bag, the rope does look good. The stated diameter of 12mm seems to be true. No kings or other obvious manufacturing issues. The eyelets seem to be well done with plastic sleeves and well stitched sleeves that are also covered in plastic. The rope comes with two gated carabiners that have no markings at all. The rope is pretty stiff and did not soften noticeable after several uses. While the eyelets are a nice touch for many uses, they also limit the versatility a bit: you can't feed the rope through some belaying devices and not tie it directly to a harness. I am not really a climber and I certainly would not trust my life to this rope (and I did replace the carabiners with rated ones). But for all other purposes where a rope is required, this looks like a great choice. It is not as expensive as a dedicated climbing rope - but way better quality than a cheap rope from the hardware store. I have used it in a block and tackle setup for motorcycle recovery - and it worked great. Great rope to have in the back of the truck for general purposes. ... show more

This is a good quality climbing rope. The rope itself is very thick and seems to be sturdy and reliable. We are amateur climbers; however, it does seem to support my 220 pound husband well. I do have some concerns on the quality of the steel hooks. They seem to be of lower quality than the rope. the security bold around the hook seems fragile. The rope seems to be of high-quality (no kinks or blemishes that I saw or felt when I checked it out of the box), though a bit stiff. Each end has an eyelet (plastic, not steel as listed in the review), a sewn loop, and covered in a thick clear heat-shrink material. There is also a steel spring clip through each loop. The clips have no markings for their load rating, so I'd be hesitant to rely on them. Also, since the loop at each end is sewn you may not be able to use the rope in a pulley or some belay devices (nor tie directly into a harness). I'm debating cutting off the loops and refinishing the ends so I can tie my own loops/knots when needed (I got the 20m length so cutting off the loops will still leave over 60' of rope). ... show more

The rope is ok. I wouldn't trust it for climbing. I'm not an expert but have gone climbing with a group one time and this does not seem nearly as good as the climbing ropes we used. This rope is much lighter. I plan to use this rope for camping and holding up tarps which it works well for but won't trust this rope or carabiniers to hold my weight. ... show more

So I run a steel band non profit. We have our own studio and middle and high school kids come and rehearse several times a week. Every once in a while, when they open the studio door there is a sign that says…The Floor is Lava….before they arrive I have placed objects on the floor that they can jump to and ropes overhead that they can hold onto. I got this rope for that purpose and it works very nicely. Please note that I am not attaching it to a steep or vertical rock face and trusting my life and limb to its strength or integrity.
