This is a mid sewing thread but the value is super good. The colors are not that vibrant in my opinion and the yarns look and feel quite average, with imperfections in them when you touch it. (You can see how the hairs stick up on the twist). This product is an excellent value! You get so many different colors of thread, and they all come in generous quantities. The thread feels very durable and I have not experienced any issues with it breaking or having knots. There's nothing worse than using a cheap thread and it having a rough knotted spot in it that gets jammed in the fabric or needle. This thread feels very nice quality and I have not had any issues with jams or knots. I also appreciate the fact that this pack comes with a little sachet of needles, as you can never seem to have too many needles. The threader is also a nice bonus, especially if you have trouble threading needles. The price is beyond fair in my opinion; between the amount of thread you get, the quality and colors provided, and the bonus needles and threader, I would highly recommend this product! ... show more

Before having kids I rarely needed more than some white thread and a needle to fix a button on a dress shirt, but as I've gotten older (and less single) having other supplies on-hand has become helpful. I'm certainly not a professional, but being able to fix a ripped seam on a pair of pants or patch a hole in my hiking pack is much more cost-effective than sending something out for repair; not only is this cheaper but I don't have to go without the item for days or longer. With kids and their clothing (and toys) being able to quickly repair an item has helped keep the peace at home, since their favorite shirt can be mended and a treasured stuffed animal can be fixed as well. That brings us to this thread. For my purposes it seems to work great, with enough color variety to take care of things, an assortment of needles, and the best threader I've used (the cheap foil ones always seem to break after a few uses). I would have bought this kit for the thread alone, so it's nice that it also came with needles and a threader (especially the threader, since they're so easy to lose but rarely come in bulk like needles do!). $6.49 for 12 spools is an excellent bargain, compared to what you'd pay if you bought similarly sized spools individually. Even if you only need 2 or 3 of the colors, you're still saving per meter of thread. Compared to the Coats & Clark and Gutermann brands I typically find at the fabric store, I noticed this thread was a little thicker and coarser, but that didn't affect the performance. I had no trouble threading my machine or the needle, and it sewed several seams without issue. A few minor complaints: There is no notch on the spool to keep the thread from unraveling when it's not in use (I cut one in; problem solved!). Some of the colors have loops of thread dangling out from around the spool. They look like the result of careless winding, and I worry that these loops might catch on something while I'm machine sewing. In spite of these complaints, I wouldn't hesitate to order this kit again and am happy to recommend! ... show more
