My daughter is using this box for her agate collection. The hole in the top is perfect for dropping the rocks in. The lighting on the sides should allow you to see the translucence of the rocks. We haven't filled up the box yet and I am currently wondering if the box will be sturdy enough to hold all of that weight. While it accomplishes what the description says. The plexiglass was scratched and the frame isn’t very sturdy. The wood splinters and leaves pieces in the box even with cleaning. For corks it probably would work ok but for a shadow box this isn’t the best option.
