I picked up one of these kites to do some beach flying last week on the Cape of Cod - and this kite performed amazingly well! I've never had a kite fly almost vertically above me - usually the string angle is closer to maybe 50 degrees or so out in front. I used a deep sea fishing rod and reel (Penn Senator 9/0 - huge beastly thing) loaded with 50 pound braid and 100 pound nylon leader to a big snap swivel, worked great! This kite far exceeded my expectations. Very stable and easy to fly. Flown at the beach in approx 10-12mph wind. Used a different string reel that I already had. Glad I did as I would have had to fight it hard to get it to come down in the winds. Excited to use it again soon!

I was going to leave 4 stars because the included string just didn’t match the quality of the kite but this thing just wants to fly. The string broke. I bought an after market reel with a brake on it so it’s better. And it’s huge and beautiful.
