Actually, I'm disappointed in these washers... they are... too good. I bought them for an art project and planned to rust them. I've soaked them in a strong solution of salt and vinegar. The water turned rust colored and I thought GREAT! But... the washers remained rust-free. I then soaked them in hydrogen peroxide. Same story. Now I've tried sanding them (to remove coating) and soaking now in hydrogen peroxide again. These are tough... if you're looking for washers that are VERY resistant to rust... you will love these. For me.... still working on it. (Did better with the safety pins). ... show more
