  • Really nice and well made
Lens Color: voyage blue
My first experience with a paddle-board was in Roatán Honduras last winter at a resort we went to while on a cruise down there. My son and I had a blast on them and were on them most of the day. The ones they had there were solid and not inflatable and were a bit smaller than this inflatable. This past summer my son and I went up to Lake Huron to do some finishing and spend a father/son week on vacation and when we were spending a day at the beach we noticed someone packing up an inflatable paddle-board and it blew our minds. I had no idea these things existed and were actually usable as more than just a kids pool toy. We talked to the owner for a little while and he gave us all the inns and out about them and I was convinced I had to have one and would look into it when we got home. I had forgotten about it until I ran across the opportunity to try this Suncorp out. I also ordered a battery operated pump as I am not so much into using a manual pump for something this size. They both arrived at about the same time so I was eager to inflate this and see what it was like. Since it is winter and I am not traveling anywhere warm for a few months I had to settle for just inflating it on the floor of my shop. My pump quickly inflated it to the recommended 15 psi and this thing was rock solid. It is amazing you can inflate something to be so rigid. It easily supported my 250 pounds without any give whatsoever. This board is huge as well, 11-1/2 feet long and almost 3 feet wide it is a beast when inflated. The only issue I had with it was when I disconnected the pump hose it did not keep the valve shut and it lost a lot of psi before I could push the button to get it to shut off. I inflated it to 15 psi twice before my pump battery died and it did this each time. I am not sure if the hose fitting for my electric pump was causing this or if I was doing something wrong. At a lower psi I didn't have this issue and when removing the pump hose it stayed shut off. Maybe it just needs to wear in with a few inflations or something. I will have to research that. It comes with a nice carrying bag/backpack that I was able to get it deflated and folded and put back into the bag without issue. I did have to fold it twice to figure out how to do it to get it to fit, but now I am confident I will be able to do it again without issue. It also has an aluminum paddle that is in three pieces that lock together. I googled "do aluminum paddles float" because it feels like this will sink to the bottom, but from what I read and then confirmed there is foam down in the tube for the bottom piece, the middle section is open, but the top section is closed and I assume may have more foam inside. Hopefully it does float. The manual pump that comes with it looks perfectly fine, I just preferred to use an electric. It also comes with a very nice leash, repair kit, waterproof bag and a waterproof phone case. Pretty much a complete kit. I am really looking forward to taking this out on the water and may have to pick up another one so my son and I can use them at the same time. I also see where you can get seats for these, I may pick up one of those as well because it seems like it would be a lot more enjoyable and easier to use if you were sitting down. Overall I am a novice to these, but this one seems very impressive. It also looks really good, I love the color scheme and overall design. It has plenty of tie downs and bungee cords at the top and bottom of the board. ... show more

  • Good value in a beginner board
Lens Color: voyage blue
This is a good value in a beginner board. It's nice and stable which makes it easy to learn on. The weight capacity is higher than some similar boards and I've gone up to the limit (with person, cooler and pet aboard) and it has stayed rigid and hasn't started to ride low in the water. I recommend keeping it inflated at or above 15 PSI. The deck is nonslip and feels good under bare feet; I usually wear water shoes and it doesn't get permanently marred with shoes on. I appreciate that it has carry handles both in the front and the back, because my partner and I often carry two boards down to the beach together, and the handles make it easy. One of our boards only has a back handle so it's hard to carry from the ends. While I like the board I'm not as impressed with the accessories. I'd invest in a higher quality paddle right away. The backpack is cheap and the zipper started coming apart under pressure when I tried to get it back in and closed. Honestly it's easier to store and transport it in a big plastic bin. ... show more

  • Now I Need to Find Some Water
Lens Color: voyage blue
Well, this is my first paddle board and so far I'm impressed. Seems pretty inclusive with some extras, like a couple of dry bags. It's pretty straight forward to get filled but was going slow on the pumping side until I saw another valve you could remove to get more volume. That helped a lot but, I must say, my arms were getting pretty tired by the time I got it filled. Once you hit 10 PSI getting those last 2 are a harder push on the pump. I'm glad 12 was the suggested but you can go up to 15 PSI. At 12 PSI it was rock hard. I did have to do a second pass at getting the last 3 lbs as when I removed the pump hose air started rushing out until I popped the center valve plug out. That was a bit discouraging but all good. Like I said, the board was rock hard at 12 PSI. I put my full 215 lbs of weight on just my knees and barely saw any indentations, so, not worried here. The paddle is in three sections with some measurements for setting it to a particular length. The instructions didn't mention the proper length, so, I'll need to figure that out still. The fin went on fine but isn't real big. I'm not certain what this means for paddle boards but when I wind surfed, with a long board, the fin also was smaller but it had a dagger board to help with side drifting. Since I've not hit the water yet I can't comment on how it maneauvers, especially if there is any wind. Getting it back into the bad was a little bit of a challenge at first but everything fit without issue. It was nice that the pump has a reverse, deflate feature as that helped to get all the air out and made it about as compact as you would be able to. The bag is set up as a backpack to make getting from car to water a bit easier. There isn't a lot of padding on the straps and the waist belt is okay but nothing about this is a true backpack, so, don't expect to go on a long, comfortable journey. All in all I'm very happy and excited to see what paddle boarding is all about. Didn't see any red flags during this setup and checkout, so, I'm a 5-star. ... show more
