  • Good looking, sounds great!
I bought this horn to replace the burnt out one on my 21 footer. Install was simple, done in about 5 minutes, and all from the outside of the boat. Horn has a nice crisp and loud sound. A word of caution, I almost bought the high pitch horn, I caught it before ordering though. I prefer the lower pitch on my boat, don't want to sound like an import car on the water. It seems to be made pretty well, only time will tell for sure. It does look and sound good though. ... show more

  • Worked well for 6 months, 1 year warranty repair in prices
Update: Failed after 6 months Schmitt Ongaro has responded to warranty replacement. Lacking installation instructions water intrusion may have caused issue. Electrical connections need to be on top after install. Original Review: Appears to be of quality construction. Loud enough. I think adding the alternate higher pitch model would make it sound much better ... show more

  • It's a keeper!
This horn is SHARP! So sharp that I bought 2. (Actually I dropped the first one in the lake while cutting the hole!) Sounds great and very easy to install as a replacement. This horn actually looks better than the picture. I replaced a cheap plastic based horn that the sun faded the outter cover and water damaged the internal components. This horn is Stainless Steel outter casing and component cover garanteed to last 5+ years. The only negative thing I can say about this product is that it sinks very fast!!! ... show more

  • Customer service no reply
Not loud and only worked for 1 month. Bought 2 for my boat 1st one only lasted 2 weeks and 2nd one lasted month or so. There is no response from the seller. Called their customer service number.... Went to google voicemail with no return call. Dont waste your money.

  • Works great
It's a horn....it blows... Well, I need more words to submit this. Make sure you measure your screw holes if replacing an existing Horn. There are two sizes. IIRC this is the 4.25" hole spread. It's still a horn, it blows. Should be enough words now.

  • It's a boat horn that kind of works
Looks good installed. Haven't hooked up the console to power yet since I'm still rebuilding the boat. Just wish they had supplied a cutout template. Overall not bad. **Update** So after 2 seasons, it kinda still works. Well apparently its not exactly water resistant. You would think that something made for marine applications could handle at least a splashing. Thing is this is installed inside the console so there is no way the horn itself got wet, so I think it is due to humidity messing with the reeds or something like that, because if I hold down the horn button, at first it barely makes noise, and the longer I hold it, the louder and better sounding it gets. The only thing I can think of is that moisture has built up in the horn body. I have been thinking about replacing it with a motorcycle horn, as I can ride in an absolute down pour, or let the bike sit for months and the horn still works just fine. So if you are considering this horn. The cover plate looks good installed, but the horn itself is not the highest quality. ... show more

  • It takes a lot of Amps to operate
It takes a lot of Amps to operate, so I had to install a large gauge wire directly from the battery to make it work. Honks well though.
