I use a lot of rebar ties, both for reinforcing concrete pads and for fabricating armatures for large concrete sculptures, strapping rebar, lath and wire together prior to welding. It is surprising how many rebar ties you can go through on a project. The last batch of rebar ties I purchased at the big box store were terrible, they were very weak and broke easily, so I’ve been on the hunt for stronger ties and was happy to give these a try. I use a semi-automatic twister tool, basically a metal hook on the end of a spiral rod that sits inside a plastic handle, it twists the wire when you pull it. This tool is faster and more consistent than the manual hooks provided in this kit. (That said, I appreciate the inclusion of the two manual hook tools, which will come in handy for use by helpers or if my specialized tool breaks.) I found these rebar ties to be far superior to the last batch I purchased at the home improvement store. I have yet to have any of these break, which was a huge problem with the other ties. These are classic rebar ties, six inches long with loops on each end. They perform as they should, allowing you to twist them tight without breaking. As far as value, at the time of my review, our local Big Box Home Improvement Store sells a 1000 pack of six-inch 16-gauge rebar ties for $36.98. They sell a single wood handled manual Wire Twister tool for $10.48, which would equate to $57.94 for the equivalent of what is in this kit, which was priced around $30. The inclusion of the two twister tools adds a lot of value to this kit. The fact the wire has a reasonable amount of strength makes these a joy to work with. Bottom-line: A good value on rebar ties that perform as they should.

This rebar tie wire set is exactly what I needed for my concrete and framing projects. The wire is flexible enough to twist easily and strong enough to hold rebar securely without snapping. The double-loop design speeds up the tying process! I just had to hook, twist, and on to the next one. The two included twister tools rotate smoothly and the handles help to reduce hand fatigue. I used these for rebar and they performed great. Every tie was uniform, and the black finish should provide good resistance against rust and weather. I am not sure I will ever use all the ties but it's good to have them on hand. This tool set is an amazing value for the price and I highly recommend it.

This is an item that I had no immediate use for, but knew I had to have it and that it would come in handy for future use. Right away I found a use that solves a problem I have been having. I have been catching some mice on glue traps around the garage, in the past I had been putting them in heavy bags left over from the pellets for my stove. The problem was I could never get a knot tight enough on the bag to keep the smell in before my trash cans were emptied. Problem solved, a few twists of the bag and one of these wire ties wrapped tight keeps the smell in the bag. Although I am sure the manufacturer did not have this in mind for the products use, but it's just one example of the many uses for this product around the house and property. The 2 included handles are very well made and should provide a lifetime of use. I am very happy with the product and look forward to discovering inventive ways to use them.

The twisting tool makes easy work of a repetetive task, reducing hand fatigue while speeding up productivity. Useful for other tasks besides concrete reinforcing rebar, anywhere you need to wire something together.

I'm about to undertake my first substantial DIY concrete job when I demo and replace the front porch slab of an old farmhouse. Finding the right tools and accessories will be a key part of the prep and from what I've seen these rebar ties are a cut above from I can find at the local hardware store. The included tools give me the confidence that I can get the ties correct and tight, and the amount you get for the price means I will have ample for the future as well. No complaints.

I live on a farm a do some DIY concrete work. These rebar ties will definitely come in handy. The entire package was quite HUGE and BEEFY and the took has a strong wooden handle that seems ROBUST. Honestly, for what I do around the farm, this is probably overkill and will probably last me for an entire lifetime of rebar-tying projects. For the price, this kit is a good value. I have to make some footers for a hay bale feeder, and looking forward to using these.

Wow! These pieces are definitely thicker and more durable than what I was expecting. And the two wooden handled claws are great help with the twisting. The photo that I include with this review highlights the length of the individual wire pieces, the large volume of total pieces, and the great quality of the two claws tools.
