  • Great for Dungeons & Dragons
For $10 you got 100 Minis to practice your paint technique which is why I bought them. They are slightly larger then your standard D&D mini which is why I included those in the pic my review. That way potential buyers can get a look at the scale of the minis. They are pretty well molded and with the right paint technique it really pop. I did get a couple of skeletons that were half molded or molded incorrectly so I'm going to cut those apart and Frankenstein myself a four-armed skeleton. Have fun, it's well worth the purchase. ... show more

  • Great for large D&D skeletons or chopped up for scenery/bone piles.
For anyone thinking of purchasing these skeletons for D&D they count as a large creature. They are about 2 inches tall from the base to the top of their heads, some are a little bigger but they are all about two inches, whereas most D&D figures are only about an 1 inch tall. The bases for these skeletons is about 1 1/2 inches long. A medium creature in D&D has a circular base of only an inch, so these are definitely a large creature. They do stand fairly well but if you intend to use these in a game I'd recommend attaching a large base to it so your players won't get confused as to the area it's supposed to take up. All of that aside this is a great buy. These are above and beyond the plastic army men available when I was a child. If you intend to use them in D&D they will of course take a little preparation. They have a little flashing that you'll have to take off and as I said they stand fairly well but I'd recommend attaching them to a large base. Some of the weapons may be a little bent and if you're a painter, which I am, you'll probably want to do that too. Taking all of that into consideration you receive a hundred skeletons for a little over $.12 a piece. At that price I'd say even with the prep work you're coming out ahead. Out of a hundred figures only one was damaged. One swordsman with a cutlass was missing his sword arm. I had no intention of using all of these for D&D figures, truth be told only a few of them will get painted and attached to bases. Most of these figures will be cut into pieces for scenery and bone piles. So a damaged one is no big deal, and frankly one damaged figure out of a hundred is perfectly acceptable. I've got a lot of work to do, but will post pictures of painted figures and bone piles when I finish them. Below is a listing of the individual bags and the total of what I received. No two orders will be the same, but I wanted to give you an idea of what you can expect. First Bag: 4 Swordsmen with cutlasses *Note-One of these was missing it's sword arm 4 Swordsmen with shields 6 Spearmen 3 Axe men 1 Flail 1 Archer Second Bag: 1 Swordsman with cutlass 1 Swordsman with shield 3 Spearmen 6 Axe men 3 Flails 6 Archers Third Bag: 6 Swordsmen with cutlasses 2 Swordsmen with shields 2 Spearmen 6 Axe men 1 Flail 3 Archers Fourth Bag: 3 Swordsmen with cutlasses 4 Swordsmen with shields 2 Spearmen 5 Axe men 2 Flails 4 Archers Fifth Bag: 2 Swordsmen with cutlasses 3 Swordsmen with shields 3 Spearmen 5 Axe men 4 Flails 3 Archers Total: 17 Swordsmen with cutlasses* Note one was missing it's sword arm 14 Swordsmen with shields 16 Spearmen 25 Axe men 11 Flails 17 Archers ... show more

  • Solid army, great value, a little oversized for D&D
I bought these for use with D&D games, and also to work on painting skills. For D&D purposes, the skeletons fit the Large size, instead of Medium. I just beefed up the skeleton definition for the game. These don't need painting, but they've worked well for developing painting skills, and they look better when painted. ... show more

  • Good 54mm plastic Skeletons at a very affordable price
For the cheap price, you can't beat these plastic skeletons. They're 54mm tall (2 inches), about the equivalent of an Ogre or Troll in a 28mm miniature war game. I plan to use them as Bone Devils in my fantasy war game (large undead). They come in a variety of 5-6 poses and should paint up fairly well with acrylic model paints (I haven't painted any of mine yet). They're not elaborately detailed, like a Reaper or GW miniature would be, but they're still pretty decent looking and you wouldn't be embarrassed to field them in a war game. Recommended. ... show more

  • Quick Skeletal Horde
Bought to paint some minis with my grandkids ages 3-6. They're about army men quality, I had good dispersement of about six different skeletons with different weapons/shields. I did prep them for the kids with a black/gray primer spray paint and a dry brush(overbrush) of cheap craft paint white the night before. Then just let the kids shade them with diluted shade paints. Kept their short attention for a while painting, though I probably finished 50 of the hundred, lol, but only takes 30 seconds or less to shade one. We've had a good time with them battling skeletal army's and basically setting them up and throwing things at them catapult style thinning the advancing horde. Good times. ... show more

  • You get one kind
These are ok. They advertise like you get 4 different types of skeletons. In reality, you get 90 of the one with the mace, 1 archer, and maybe a few with a sword. it's disappointing to say the least. My 6 yo still plays with them but just know you basically get one kind of skeleton.
