Features

  • Specification:Casting mold holds up to 100 troy ounces of metal. Overall Dimensions: 6.26" x 2.86" x 1.94''

  • Great quality product.
Size: 100 oz
So far this has made about 150 ingots and still going strong. Great price for quality too.

  • Works
Size: 100 oz
I use this for aluminum and copper ingots. It works well. As the description says, it is cast iron, not graphite so it is heavier, solid and can take a few whacks on the concrete to get the ingot out of the mold without breaking like graphite does.

  • Good ingot mold for bulk metals
Size: 100 oz
Nice ingot mold, holds heat well for those long sessions. Accepts large ladel pours easily. Seems incredible durable, and worth the price tag.

  • Clarity on the two different sizes - It's not what you may be expecting
Size: 100 oz
I am writing this review to provide clarity on the two different sizes. I purchased both and determined the capacity of each in milliliters. The "100 oz" holds approximately 375 mL (or 375 cm³) of distilled water at room temperature. That is full to the brim. The only metal with a density that will be near "100 oz" is 100 troy-ounces of .999 Silver (300 cm³). 300 cm³ provides 20% of spare volume to prevent overfilling the mold. On to the "50 oz" mold. The "50 oz" holds approximately 100 mL (or 100 cm³) of distilled water at room temperature. Again, that is full to the brim. The only metal with a density that will be near "50 oz" is 50 troy-ounces of .999 Gold (80 cm³). 80 cm³ provides 20% of spare volume to prevent overfilling the mold. This means that the "100 oz" mold is NOT twice the size of the "50 oz" mold. The "50 oz" mold is actually 26.7% of the size of the "100 oz" mold. Side-by-side, the "100 oz" mold dwarfs the "50 oz" mold. This means that the "100 oz" mold is approximately 3.75 times the size of the "50 oz" mold. At the end of the day, assuming the use metals of high-purity (99.9%+ pure), here is how much you should be able to fit in each mold filled safely to approximately 80%. (Metal / 100 oz Mold / 50 oz Mold / Unit of Measure) Gold / 186.3 / 49.7 / oz-t Silver / 101.2 / 27.0 / oz-t Copper / 94.6 / 25.2 / oz-avdp Aluminum / 28.7 / 7.6 / oz-avdp oz-t = troy ounce = 1/12th of a pound = 31.1035 grams oz-avdp = avoirdupois ounce = 1/16th of a pound = 28.3495 grams "avoirdupois ounce" = what is commonly just called an "ounce" in the United States As for the molds themselves, I will contradict some other reviews and rate them 5-stars. As long as you preheat the molds to 350-450°F (175-230°C) then allow the metal to freeze and cool to the point that there are no signs of glowing from the ingot or the mold before trying to remove the ingots, you should not encounter the issues others are citing. ... show more
