    • Soft cotton, but so thin it's see-through, unlike other 400-count sheets I've tried

I like the color of these sheets, an ivory that's almost yellow, and I like the soft, breathable feel of the cotton. It is so thin, though, I can see the mattress pattern through the sheet. Our last sheet cotton sheet set was much thicker. However, in less than a year, a big hole had worn into that "nicer" sheet right where my husband's feet land. (Wear socks to bed? Not him!). High thread count is no guarantor of sheets lasting longer, in my experience. The 18-inch-deep pockets do fit the annoyingly big mattresses sold these days. All my older sheet sets don't fit the stupid Big, Fat mattresses, and I will order my next mattress out of state (there's a small family-owned mattresss factory in Omaha where you can still buy a mattress that is only 9, not 18, inches tall). I'll enjoy the cottony softness for as long as this set lasts.... but my hopes for this sheet set are not as high as my hopes for the last set, and that set didn't last long at all. ... show more

These are nice sheets, soft and comfy, and they are generously sized with very deep pockets and plenty of extra length on the flat sheet for tucking in on our king-size bed. Oddly, the flat sheet width is a bit skimpy with only perhaps 5-6" hanging over each edge, but it's workable. We prewashed, and they come out of the dryer a little wrinkled but not awful, and it stretches out when you put them on the bed. Our mattress is 14" with a 3- or 4-inch foam topper and the pockets were plenty deep enough to cover it and go under - and the elastic runs all the way around and does a great job keeping them in place. The fabric is medium-weight, not a heavy sateen but not tissue-thin, and it sleeps very cool and nice. If anything, it may be a bit too soft. Because of the way it drapes so nicely over the body, if you wear pajamas of flannel or some knits it will cling to them to some degree, which can be annoying. People that sleep nude or in slippery fabrics like nylon tricot or satin will not have that issue. They are a good deal at the price, I think - not a screaming good deal, but a fair price for this quality. I'd buy them again knowing what I know now, I'm sure. ... show more

These are wonderful sheets. So soft and lead to a great night’s sleep. I recently got a new mattress so I’m leaving my thick pad off for now, but the bottom sheet definitely gives you plenty of room for any pad you might have. If you don’t have a pad on, you’ll have some extra sheet material on the sides but no big deal. They stay on perfectly and you can just tuck the spare material in. My “turquoise” set is a lovely sage green which was just what I wanted. It looks this way online also. I’m a sheet snob but I recommend these. ... show more
