I have a number of adult coloring books that I enjoy using, but my issue with some is that they are drawn in such exquisite detail that coloring them starts to feel like painting the Sistine Chapel... a little more stressful and attention-demanding than what I'm in the mood for. While I enjoy those types of coloring projects sometimes, I often just want to chill out with something relatively simple without thinking too hard. I have enjoyed this coloring book for that reason. The pictures are beautiful and have plenty of detail to color, but are not so finely drawn that they become tedious. I also like having only the animal to color, without having a detailed background to color in, something I'm not always in the mood to do. I enjoy coloring in these pictures during a single evening while watching a movie, for example. They aren't the type of coloring pages that feel like they drag on forever, which is good for those of us who lose interest in projects quickly. I also appreciate the considerable heft of this coloring book and the sheer volume of unique pages in it. This thing is huge, and the designs don't appear to repeat. I've been coloring in it and also cutting out pages to give to my mother because she enjoys coloring too. My only complaint is the blackened backs of the pages. I don't really understand why that is necessary and it seems like a waste of ink. Otherwise, I love this coloring book and definitely recommend it in terms of both aesthetics and budget. ... show more

This book is great for the avid adult colored. It will help you relax and unwind. There are some relatively easy pages that you don't have to concentrate on closely. Yet, there I highly detailed and intricate pages you can really focus on and take your time with it. It's a lot of fun. at least in this coloring book the drawings at least look like the animals unlike the animals in the coloring book that you get with the pk of 10 the pk of ten are not worth the money , so taking them to the nursing home and the other coloring books that come with the pk are not worth it this is worth the amount of money nicer prints, better design and more relazing to coler in less then 24 hrs will recieve oil pastel coloring pencils, that i ordered, i feel there going to be great in this coloring book there color will be brighter then reg, coloring pencils or cayon, that i do not use ... show more

I highly recommend this coloring book. There are several animals in which to color from. I love the variety of animals but hate the thin paper and would have preferred spiral hardcover instead of paperback. I feel like I hit the jackpot! This coloring book is absolute bang for your buck—100 beautiful animals, all backed in black and on their own separate pages, with simple yet eloquent designs. What blows me away is the sheer diversity of critters: tons of marine life (penguins, seahorses, reef fish, dolphins, squid, lobster, and even jellyfish!), lots of portraits/faces of various large mammals (wolves, cats, cows, monkeys, koalas, rams, etc.), a pleasant array of birds (chickens, turkey, hummingbird, hawks, finches, owls, etc.), plus assorted reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids!
