You screw the basket to the handle, and then, if you want or need to, you can telescope the handle, which I find very handy for somtorage purposes 🤗 Naturally, I had to try this scooper, and let me tell you, this tool is AWESOME !!! I used to use a regular shovel to clean out the coop area where the 💩 is plentiful bc that's where they perch and nature takes place all night long. Well, 1st off, prior to this tool, every time my ladies would see me approaching the enclosure they're in, with a big shovel, they would panic, squeak and flop around screaming, in addition to being visibly stressed the whole time I'm cleaning the coop. I was hoping that this scooper would eliminate their stress and fear, because I do not like to scare my girls, I know you understand. So, I extended the handle all the way, and approached the enclosure, watching my ladies, hoping they wouldn't start their usual screaming and stressing, and they did NOT....Oh what a blessing to see that, and to enter the enclosure, which is 12 ft L X 9 ft W, and they went about their usual business, digging around and even drinking water whilst I had the side door of their coop open, using this new scooper. To me, that is the biggest plus, they were calm, and the scooper is MUCH EASIER and lighter than a regular Shovel ! So, to me, this is a triple win. The scoop and the telescoping handle are well-made, and seem durable so far. However, the angle of scooping is not ideal. The neck of the scoop really needs a 30-45 degree bend, especially if you're planning to scoop while standing with the handle extended. I'm going to mess with it and see if I can alter it, but it's not just a simple bend you can DIY because the connection to the handle is fairly sturdy, as it should be. The narrow wires make scooping through dry sand or cat litter very easy, with no shaking required to sift.

When I first got it, I was a little concerned by the light aluminum construction that it wouldn't be very strong or sturdy. I was surprised when I discovered that my son had lifted a chicken inside of it. This was impressive. The black plastic handle grip doesn't come up very easily, and the shovel has a few adjustable sections that can be locked down by screwing on the tapering nuts once it's been adjusted. I did have one issue where the basket wanted to rotate or unscrew. I had to tighten it pretty good to prevent this from happening. Filtration: The basket filters the majority of the poop, but there is some smaller pieces that do make it through the basket. Likewise, some larger chunks of consolidated dirt also get stuck in the basket and don't pass through the basket. It works okay in softer dirt, but likely works best in sandier soil. Overall, I would say it's a pretty good scooper. I think the biggest concern I have is with the basket rotating that easily and only prevented from rotation by a screw.

We got this for (obviously) cleaning out the chicken coop. It works great. We have a sand floor in the coop and as such, have been using a kitty litter scoop, which worked, but was slow and a bit tedious. Enter this. It cuts the cleaning time roughly in half. The corners have a few holes which are a bit bigger than I would like and allow some occasional "escapes", but that's not a big enough problem to deduct a star. I tend to worry with extensions or other things with long handles that they'll be flimsy. That's not an issue here. Even at full length, it handles a full scoop just fine.

The Tullyllify 10-inch Large Chicken Poop Scooper, 38-inch Long Handled Chicken Coop Scooper is a decent scooper. The aluminum handle is lightweight but not so much that it feels weak when I am using it. That being said, you probably wouldn't want to use this with heavily compacted soil: sand or kitty litter would probably be best. The 3 sections are attached by plastic couplers that tighten/loosen, allowing the two top sections to telescope into the bottom section. These feel like they will hold up to regular use. If using in freezing temperatures, I would treat carefully to prevent cracking when frozen. I am pleased with the size of the metal basket as well as the gaps in the scoop. I feel like if they were narrower they would prevent proper sifting.

The media could not be loaded. This makes it so much easier to clean inside out new coop. We just got a slightly larger Coop that's supposed to fit 10 to 12 hens for our seven. My arms can't reach into the back to clean it out with the cat scoop I've been using. This is so much easier. You can telescope it in two spots. Just make sure that you twist tightly to hold it in its place. My only complaint is that the head is crooked but I can still do exactly what I need to do.

I was excited to try this item. While it can be useful for reaching into corners under the nest boxes, the handle doesn’t feel all that sturdy, and the scoop part at the end, tends to rotate. No matter how I try to get it tighter, it turns. I like the idea of being able to just scoop and clean, though. This works best for sand floor coops. If you have chips or do the natural deep mulch method, you will have trouble, as the scoop will pick all that us, and will clog the sifter. So, if you have a small coop, with a sand floor and less than 8-10 chickens, this could be very handy, especially if you can engineer a fix for the rotation issue.
