I have yet to try a pair of pliers that I am turned off by Knipex. They do what they're say and they never fail. The only failure is in operator error. These things cut through all the hardened floor nails almost like it's not even there.

If you need a disposable tool, you have many choices. You are buying this because it will continue to perform when others fail. I would rather have a tool that performs every time I need it, than fail when I really need it. It amazed me to see what these things will cut, and the edge remains fresh. For those that don't know, you can make a tool edge that is too hard, and it will be brittle, too soft it won't break but it won't cut. Having the best materials and the correct temper (heat treatment process) makes for durable tools. Knipex has nailed this with their cutters. My wife needed a steel wire cutter for her floral decoration projects, but did not like my tools as they are much too large and heavy for her tasks. So, I got her this smaller cutter that is still capable of taking care of the steel wire. It cuts through the floral wire with ease. Very sturdy and capable. Cuts through drywall screws like nothing. My old 8 inch / 200mm Kobalt mini bolt cutters could only shorten 1 or 2 screws before hurting to use. I just wish I'd gotten the ones without the curved cutout in the cutting jaws, I don't think that's necessary for my use.
