  • I put this endpin in my bass. I chucked the collars
I bought this for my Bass Violin. It's the proper diameter for the collar of my steel endpin, so I just swapped them. I can go back to steel if I choose. I actually bought two of these, one I cut short, the other long. I can't say that this will help your tone, but it's cheap enough that it's worth a try. It worked for me, warming up the sound, and, because I cut it short, it takes up less space inside and allows the bass to resonate a bit more. This is at the expense of the steel qualities, which seem to make a sharper articulation and more focused sound. I have not noticed a big difference in projection between carbon and steel, though I feel like this carbon warmed up my bass. My bass is small and has a nice focused sound, so this endpin seems to relax it a bit, which was my goal. To use with my old steel endpin's collar, I put a 1/4" leather punch-out from an old belt in between the collar's screw and the endpin. It works beautifully. I can play standing fine, too, though it does feel more flexible and bouncy than the 10mm steel endpin when fully extended. ... show more

  • It’s ok, but the design could be better
I like the endpin because I need it to replace the one that came with my cello. I’ll take one star off because, as you can see in the pictures, the cork piece that prevents a lateral movement of the rod came loose. Another problem. The endpin is too wide, so, I’ll have to fix that. And the screw “head” touches the tailpiece!! See the third picture. I’m taking another star off because of that. By the way, my cello’s size is 4/4 ... show more

  • Works fine with my son's Merano 4/4 cello
No problem with carefully self-installing this one on a Merano cello (ASIN# B0057JUY28). The original had become useless because of stripped threading for the height adjustment bolt.

  • Four Stars
It feels a little bit chintzy, but so far it's been working ok.

  • Cello Endpin
Once fitted this endpoint works great. Excellent length. I did have it professionally installed as the required hole was larger than the old stock hole. I used this on a 3/4 cello restoration project which turned out great. Very nice unit. Even with the cost to have it installed it was cheaper than the local strings store brand.. ... show more

  • Great Endpin
I have an old 3/4th Cello and needed a new endpin to replace the 1900s version as the metal bent during transportation. I love the rubber tip built in and the length. Feels really sturdy. Would recommend it!

  • Three Stars
Didn't fit our 3/4 cello. Might be helpful to include diameter dimensions of pin.

  • Does not fit and plug is plastic
This I does not fit a standard cello the plug is too wide and the stick is too wide to apply alone.
