  • Perfect, worked like a charm1
I had an old analog CCTV system wired with Cat5e (with baluns to convert to coax), for analog cameras and coax DVR. Except one camera that was wired with coax. The special CCTV coax cable, with a smaller power cable attached to it. I decided to upgrade everything with IP/Poe cameras and NVR. So, wiring for all cameras could easily be reused, except that one coax camera. One solution was to tie a cat5e to one end of the coax, and pull the coax out, pulling cat5e in. That wasn't possible in my case (many angles in the walls). So I found this product, and it worked perfectly!!! Two important points for those in my situation: 1) Network tester that pings each of the eight cat5e wires/strands didn't work on this, it showed #2 and #6 lights lit up on the master end, and no lights lit up on the remote end. This is expected, don't panic - there is no 8 distinct strands in here. 2) Make sure you reuse the power cable! This adapter is not PoE, it is just IP. My PoE cameras had 3 ends on it: cat5e, power (for optional use), and the reset button. So I used the existing coax power plug to power the camera, and this adapter for coax to rj45 conversion, and everything worked. ... show more

  • Don’t buy these
These ip extenders were a waste of money and time. I connected my ip cameras with these extenders through RG59 coaxial cable with no success. I guess I will have to rewire my home with cat 5 cable.

  • Work as a charm!!
I rarely wright reviews but i had to this time. I have a security company and been in the industry for 15+ years. I install 8mp 4k ip cameras using this baluns and not even a glitch! Perfect picture. FYI: they say the can provide poe over the rg59 but im using the power lead from the siamese cables. Just to be on the save side. ... show more

  • Works great, easy to work with.
I have tried 3 other Ethernet over BNC baluns, these work great and are a fraction of the price. With the flexible connection and thinner profile these are easier to work. These will not work if the cable is poor quality or has excessive interference. Good rule of thumb, if the picture on the existing BNC camera has quite a bit of noise or ghosting, it may not work. Had this happen with 1 out of 6 cameras in an existing system. Tried 2 other brand EOC baluns I had handy and none would work over the cable. ... show more
