I'll admit I was a bit skeptical when ordering this hardware cloth, but it definitely exceeded my expectations. It was just as good as the hardware cloth I got locally, and at a better price for the length of the roll. It came securely wrapped - be careful when undoing the wire so it doesn't fling in your face! You could definitely use this cloth in all kinds of applications. I'll be using it to build a chicken run, but my chicks are still pretty young, and I've been busy getting other stuff in the garden ready, so for now I'm using the wire temporarily alongside a pet corall, to keep the chicks from getting out. So far it's worked great! And I don't see any reason why it won't work for building the run either, or creating a secure barrier against predators if you're using it for your chicken coop. Chicken wire might be cheaper, but the only good it really does is keep chickens from getting through - predators can tear through it or stick their nasty little paws through the holes, or even squeeze through altogether. But the holes in this hardware cloth are far too small for that to happen, even for weasels. So it's definitely worth it!

I am always needing hardware cloth for one purpose or another. With gardening and too may rabbits and squirrels perusing my backyard daily, I need to create additional barriers every summer. Chicken wire sometimes works, but is flimsy and allows chipmunks to get into my boxes and dig endless holes. I wasn't able to tell for sure if the cross threaded wires are thinner as the long selvage wires, so I compared it with some of my older hardware cloth purchased from a local big box store. If they are thinner, it's not by much, and without calipers, I wouldn't know for sure. Either way, it's likely most wire in this 24" x 25' rolls may have suffered the same kind of production changes as other goods. This roll is 19 gauge and is equivalent (with a better price point) that what I would be able to buy locally today. Hardware cloth is the ultimate for protection against rodents, even though pricier than chicken wire. I'm glad I was able to secure a roll of this with my Vine program. It's a highly practical item for anybody who gardens and/or raises poultry or small animals. If this roll works well for my intentions, I won't hesitate to buy it from Amazon again.

I have this lining the bottom of my peacock pen so that predators can't reach in and hurt them or chew their way into the pen. I also have this on the ground in front of the pen so that predators can't dig in. Good stuff, just like what I'd usually get at the local feed and supply store.

I ordered this 1/2" hardware cloth for use in covering my chicken pens. The wire comes in a tightly wrapped roll inside a sturdy cardboard box, and the mesh is the perfect size to prevent even the smallest baby chicks from escaping (chicken wire has holes that are too large to prevent little chicks from getting stuck). This size mesh is also perfect for making cages around vulnerable fruit trees, or for protecting other garden plants from rabbits and other animals that try to devour/damage them.

This is fine, and it matches the hardware cloth that we got at our local hardware store. This hardware cloth is ideal to keep our chickens safe from most predators (excluding bears, of course). We're also going to use it to protect our garden from various critters. Thank you!

We have quite a bit of this fencing and use it for both our chicken coop and garden. In both cases it’s to keep out predators. What’s important is to have the squares small. This wire mesh has squares of 1/2 in X 1/2 in. It’s also important to be hot dipped galvanized like this one is. That helps prevent rust. This is 19 gauge which is fine. I wouldn’t go any smaller than this, and larger just makes it difficult to manage. We are using this on our chicken coop. Normal chicken wire is very thin with large holes in it. That’s fine at the top, but we wrap this stronger mesh around the bottom of the coop. It keeps raccoons from reaching through the mesh and grabbing a chicken (yes they do that), and keeps other predators from chewing through the wire. It also prevents the chickens from slipping through and getting out. We do also use it around our garden. Gives climbing plants something to attach to, and keeps squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, and other small animals out. I recommend this one.

I got this wire for my rabbit pens. We have new additions coming and I wanted to be able that we could fix up their pens before we get them. It's the perfect gauge that they can walk on without falling through and their feces will fall through it.

This rolled up fencing will take care of any type of need you may have. I recently built a storage building in my back yard but needed to have some airflow during the seasons so I left a small gap above to provide for that but I didn't take into account that critters would find their way in there. At this point, This amazing and super strong fencing will provide the airflow I need but it will prevent anything from mice, to squirrels to any kind of vermin from making a nest in my storage building. The fence is strong and super durable and it's made to last. I'm very excited with this product.
