The install was okay (not easy). Luckily I have a drill and a jigsaw so cutting the proper type opening was easier. You need to cut an opening like a T shape not just a rectangle. The frame was okay but most was made of plastic. The door seems okay and it made of plastic as well. The door has been running for about two months and haven’t had an issue. The one odd thing that it does is at sunset (actually about 30 minutes after sunset) the door will lower, raise up half way again, and lower. The way it is made your opening will have gaps. The gate its self is plastic not aluminum. Only the caseing it stores in is metal. The side tracks are plastic as well. Its not terrible but not as expected.

This was easy to install and get set up. Worked great with the solar and automatic opening and closing each morning and evening...But it stopped working after 6 weeks. Worked daily until then. It wasn't an issue of the battery being charged as I made sure it was charged when I noticed it wasn't opening one morning. Sounds like something is stuck but I don't see how anything could get stuck. Disappointed as we were initially really pleased with this for the price. Sadly this won't make the cut... ... show more

I went out tonight to ensure my chicks were all in the coop, one chickens neck was stuck under the closed door with its head sticking outside. This product claims it has a safety in it to go back up if it senses a chicken in the door. It did NOT! I’ve had this door for about 6 weeks, just too long to return. This product does not work right. It does not open, or close, with the dawn to dusk feature. We have to open it in the morning and close it at night by pushing the button a number of times until it opens, or closes.

Do not buy this. We cut our coop to size for this and turns out it will not program to a specific time of day to open and close. You do everything according to instructions and it still doesn't work. I've gotten up at 6 am about 7 times trying to program this thing. When you try to open it using the button...it stops half way so the chickens can't even get out. Seller will not respond to my messages for replacement. ... show more
