Works as advertised, not sure of the age range but I can tell you my wife and my 5 yr old both use it and love it. My 5 yr old was able to use it his very first try, so i would say the age range is for anyone who can hold on, lol. The board is really fun for the whole family. Excellent for beginners of all ages but especially for kids! Progress from “boogie boarding” position on stomach, to knees with and without the attached rope, to standing with attached rope. Or, bigger and more advanced riders can use the boat-towed rope for a more traditional kneeboard experience. Extremely versatile water toy and fun for all ages and abilities!

The stitching failed and the handle fell off within the first hour of use. The board worked great for the kids (all less than 50lbs) until the handle broke. After a slow response, customer service stated they are out of handles and sent a video to try and remedy the issue (which fixed a different part of the strap that apparently breaks). There is likely a quality issue with the handle strap, and multiple customers are requesting new handles. Edit: Zup sent a new handle that had 4 stitchings securing the handle instead of the initial single stitch. Raising the rating to 4 stars.

My grandkids are 9 and 11, and were able to quickly learn to kneel and stand on this board, and even went out of the wake on their first day with it. They used the handle attached to the board. It’s a great way to teach them water ski skills before they start to use skis. I was very happy it arrived before the estimated delivery date.

Last year we bought the ZUP YouGotThis2.0 & everyone had a great time & was very easy to learn. We used it for kneeboarding, surfing, skiing & whatever, it is truly an all in one water toy. The only one who could not use the 2.0 was my 4 year old niece who is a little daredevil, she didn’t weigh enough to use the 2.0 without someone else hanging onto to the back. The “Coast” board solved this & she was able to ride alone and was even standing on it by the first day. This board makes it easy to get going without submerging. It is also fun for a 13 year old who can use the 2.0 too, he wasn’t sure which one he preferred. He is able to control both going in & out of the wake, and prefers using them as a knee board or to surf. The handle included on this was not used by either child & tended to get in their way, so we removed it which is very simple. Another advantage of the coast board is that smaller kids don’t have to worry about holding or attaching a rope/handle as it comes secured, although the traditional handle can be exchanged for the more advanced rider. The orange color is highly visible for other boats to see, especially when a small child is the rider.

The board is great other than the strap that connects the board to handle. My child is 46lbs so not a huge amount of stress for the connecting metal rings on the strap. I went to ZUP website and completed a customer request form and they have not contacted me in over 3 weeks. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Update: Now it's been over 5 weeks and no response from Zup customer service based on their warranty. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE - their warranty is useless if they don't respond.
