  • great for ice
Color: Black Size: X-Large
Last winter I was walking and took a nasty fall on the ice. Told myself I didn't want that to happen again (and after getting the bill from the doctors, couldn't afford another one). So I got these, and then the sun came out, and summer came. Today was the first day I got to try them. Sidewalks were not plowed after our last storm, good inch of solid ice covering them all. In may places it has melted and re-frozen, really smooth, slippery, an accident waiting to happen, but not for me! These are great! They slide over my boots, and stayed on without the added strap. They are not very comfortable for walking on those little spots of dry pavement I found, they make a lot of noise, and your foot tends to roll. And of course you an not wear these inside your house, they would quickly destroy wood floors. But in area with a bit of snow, with ice under, very secure. Walking on hard ice, you still have the foot rolling issue, but a small price to pay for staying standing. I imagine these are the type of thing I will only use a few times a year, but certainly make my walk today much more pleasant than what happened last year. ... show more

  • Don't bother with these unless you intend to walk at a turtles pace on totally level ground
Color: Black Size: Medium
Useless unless you fall into the camp of the headline. Do they provide traction in snow? Don't know, didn't try. Do they provide traction in mud? Yes, definitely, but if there is even the slightest bit of incline these things grab while your shoe slides across them so that you are either sliding over the toe on a downhill or away from the toe on the uphill. There isn't enough integrity to the front or back edge of the product to keep them on your foot so you are constantly having to readjust them to keep them on. I got these to hike slightly muddy trails with hills and didn't go more than 40 yards before I had to remove them since I had to stop at least 3 times in that distance to readjust them. They might actually work if the whole front was solid material up to the strap they provide or if you only intend to walk on a flat terrain. ... show more

  • Poor engineering- Didn’t anybody field test this?
Color: Black Size: Medium
I side by side tested this brand of crampon next to the Ceestyle 11 spikes. this one lost by schmearry sides. the spikes are not long enough for traction. The heel section is too small so it makes your heel unsteady. Poor engineering. Buy the Ceestyle- Long spikes the grip easy to put on and very steady on the foot. ... show more

  • So close to a good product. Bought for the cleat and strap design.
Color: Black Size: Small
The media could not be loaded. Love the cleat design. Rubber design is not durable enough in areas needing to last. Strap is key to staying on and why I bought this model along with the type of cleat. Strap is too short and won’t work because it’s hook and loop are on the same side. Just try to attach to the buckle and connect and you will clearly understand the problem in its design. Toe top area to provide securing onto boot is much too thin of rubber and too insufficiently comes over the top of front boot. It, without the strap, will surely come off boots top tip and thus be lost on the trail. Great design idea requiring a few important adjustments or tweaks. If top front can’t be of heavier rubber, perhaps a few more rows could give it the grasp and added strength that’s needed. Too, the strap location either needs to be thinker/stronger or more rows of rubber to eliminate stretching and failures. ... show more

  • Used with my scuba drysuit - keeps the boots protected.
Color: Black Size: X-Large
I know it's an odd use - but these are now a permanent part of my Pacific NW dive gear. Easy to slip on with a velcro adjuster, but protects the built in boots and soles of my dry suit and also keeps me from slipping when it rains (hahahahah- Pacific NW - rain....duh) I have also used them in icy Canada. Recommended. ... show more

  • Purchase two extra support straps(4 total) to keep the cleats nose and sides from moving.
Color: Black Size: Large
Took these on an epic Hike through Angels Landing and The Narrows May/2021. Held up pretty well until the end of the Narrows hike where the rubber split from the extra support strap that holds at both sides. They may have worked well on hiking boots, but I used them on running shoes (Angels Landing) and water shoes(The Narrows) for comfort. The only issue i had was it coming loose from the nose of the shoe. If it had 2 pairs of support straps (4 total) I would have rigged it to stay perfectly in place. These work so well with gripping the rocks up both hikes, especially gripping wet/smooth rocks in the Narrows. I will be purchasing two more pairs. Already planned another trip to Angels Landing and the Narrows for August/2021 (Bryce Canyon) for my sons 15th birthday, hes excited. ... show more

  • not quite perfect
Color: Black Size: Medium
These are great ice cleats - except for the minimal toe coverage. The material is good and sturdy and the metal cleats are very good. The velcro strap is a great idea so you don't lose the cleat if it comes off your boot/shoe. The main problem - there's not enough material used on the toe part of it and they tend to slip off the toes. I remedied the flaw by inserting a boot lace through the toe loop and secured it to my boot - problem fixed. I"ve tried to include a photo but it won't work. ... show more

  • ice grippers
Color: Black Size: Medium
Have not used these yet, but have used similar products. I bought 2 pair, one for me and one for my husband. His pair is missing one of the straps that go over the top of the foot. If need be, we will rig up something to make it work. Don't want to go thru the hassle of returns etc.......
