  • Made From Climbing Rope - Mountain climbing rope is designed to be strong, durable, and slightly flexible. Weve repurposed that superb design to create the ideal dog leash.
  • Great For Training - The short length is ideal for general walking and training, keeping your dog close by so they can hear and obey your commands.

  • Dangerous Dysfunctional Clasp
Size: 6-Feet Color: Red
I was really excited when this leash arrived, especially since it felt so great in my hands. The rope is the perfect thickness and is very easy to hold on to. Unfortunately, there seems to be a design flaw with the clasp. It does not spin at all, so when my dog pulls, the leash twists my dog's martingale collar, forcing you to untwist the leash. Every leash I have owned allows the clip to spin to avoid this, so that was a significant problem. Most importantly, the actual clasp is very dangerous and dysfunctional. When the leash twists, the D-ring from the collar pushes against the latch, causing it to come out of place to the side. Should my dog see a squirrel or get excited on the leash, the leash could very easily unclip from his collar. I really liked this leash and debated on replacing the clip, but I think I would feel more comfortable finding another alternative. Edit: Since this is the first review listed on Amazon for this product, I figured I should say that it appears ZippyPaws has changed the design of the clasp to solve the problems I experienced. However, it sounds like some people are still receiving the older model when they purchase it. When I need a new leash I may very well try the new model of this one, but I won't change my star rating until I've actually got new data. ... show more

  • Poor quality probably fake
Size: 4-Feet Color: Blue
Looks like a low quality knock off. I bough a Zippy paws 4 foot leash a couple years ago and loved it. I needed another so I order this. Same size, same color. This is either a fake or the product is now made much cheaper. The original has an orange plastic bushing to prevent the clasp from wearing the rope. This one does not. The original has a strong solid climbing rope. This one has a cheap spongy feel. Not durable rope. The original has an easy to use clasp. This one has a cheap clasp with sharp edges that cut my thumb the first time I used it. Original has a two color label. This one has a single color. Do not buy. ... show more

  • Beware
Size: 6-Feet Color: Teal
**Do NOT order this leash. The clasp is dysfunctional. Twice now my dog's and I were out for a walk when all of the sudden the leash disconnected suddenly. The first time it happened I thought it was my fault and maybe I didn't attach it properly. Now I know it wasn't me because I triple check before leaving the house. I NEED a leash I can trust because my one dog is a runner and has been hit by a car in the past. I'm so upset and angry right now. This company needs to do better. If that leash had been attached to her and suddenly the clasp failed, she'd run and likely get hit again. Absolutely not okay. ... show more

  • Training Professional's Favorite Large Dog Leash!
Size: 6-Feet Color: Teal
So far, this leash is my favorite for use on large and giant breed dogs! The thickness, length and overall function is superb. Extremely comfortable on hands and arms, perfect length and very durable. The snap clasp is easy to attach, excellent control and flexibility. I do not forsee any dog being able to break this one with normal use, as I have already tested it on a Wolfdog that broke a 3mm prong collar when she was younger (going after a rabbit)! At first glance, I noticed glue at the base of the handle, but quickly realized it is well sewn too, so this is just a minor cosmetic flaw. The color is beautiful (turquoise), so I will be getting more colors soon. THIS LEASH IS NOT FOR SMALL DOGS. There is a lightweight version of this leash for smaller breeds. ... show more

  • Still holding up almost 5 years later...
Size: 6-Feet Color: Pink
I forgot to write a review until now, bought June 2016 (oops). Actually, we've been using this leash for almost 5 years between 3 larger dogs and it's still holding up. Color has faded a little over time. There's been no fraying or over stretch of material. My dogs weight 60, 65 and 110 pounds with one a Pit/Boxer/Lab/Mastiff mix with lots of pulling strength. I leash trained all 3 using this leash. I love how its round and doesn't hurt your hand like a flat leash handle will. Needless to say, I will definitely buy another and will be shortly. My 2 big boys deserve a blue leash instead of having to use their mom's pink one. I definitely got my monies worth with this leash. ... show more

  • Must have!!! 5 years later still going strong!
Size: 6-Feet Color: Red
I bought our first Zippy Paw leash at a local retail store. After almost 5 years of use (our pup is about 60 lbs. Strong. Pulls when excited when is fairly often :) the leash is just as solid as first day other than its color faded. The "cover" (black clothed area) slipped some but integrity hasn't been comprised at all. The hook is just as SOLID. I see some commented that the product is different than the pictures. The one that I bought 5 years ago never had that rubber piece and it's held up well. The nominal cost of the leash WELL justified for the quality received. We received some many compliments too of how strong and good looking the leash is. The only thing I wish for improvement that it's more reflective at night but we rarely walk at night anyway. ... show more

  • Love the leash but...
Size: 6-Feet Color: Black
Love the leash - easy to hold, strong, amazingly light weight - but the clasp broke within the first week. It was immediately returned to Amazon for an exchange. The new leash is holding strong. Update: The spring in the clasp, which appears sturdy, comes out after time allowing the dog to escape. This happened now on two leashes. Not worth the risk. ... show more

  • Tough Dog Leash Good for Strong Dogs Who Chew Leashes-Update
Size: 6-Feet Color: Black
Our latest family member has chewed through two mountain leashes since we adopted her last November. We bought two of these leashes just in case she continued this pattern. It has been a month since we attached one of these leashes to her collar and it is still intact! It is a thicker leash than the previous mountain leashes we have owned and holds up well when our dog is pulling hard. The hardware latch is good quality also. The colors of the collars are vibrant also. We bought a purple one and a black one. I have not tried washing the leash, however, it has survived getting very wet twice due to our walking the dog in the rain. Update: It is now two months since we purchased these leashes and the purple leash is still intact. (We have not needed to use the black one yet.) It has gotten wet numerous times due to the Florida rainstorms and the colors are holding true. Ms Power Chewer has tried to chew the leash at least four times and it shows no marks. ... show more
