Our Merle Hazzard can be quite hard on leashes and our hands! We've had the leashes with foam on the handles but Merle always seems to get ahold of them just right and tear them. Other leashes can hurt our hands when that suicidal squirrel runs in front of us 😏. We have two of these leashes now. The first was a gift, the 2nd I looked for because they're perfect for our pup and us. The handles are comfortable and easy to hold, the little give in the leash helps to lessen those surprise pulls, and Merle has never been able to rip or otherwise damage them! We had to get the 2nd one for color coordination with his harness, he hates to be out of fashion. He gives 4 paws up because they don't interfere with his multiple rolls and belly crawls on our walks.

This leash is great. It is the thickest rope leash I could find and I’ve been loving it for my 9 month, 60lb pup. Here is what has improved with this leash: 1) I feel like I have more control over my puppy due to the thicker sturdier leash. I use to feel like I had to wrap the leash around my hand to feel in control 2) It doesn’t hurt my hand when he pulls as it’s thicker and gentler 3) When our pup gets excited he puts the leash in his mouth and chews and has almost chewed through other leashes but hasn’t been able to do any damage to this one The only thing I’d caution is this leash is thick and heavy so I wouldn’t recommend for smaller dogs who may be weighed down by it.

This leash is very comfortable and strong. it is a little stiff when new but after a few uses, it relaxes a bit and is very comfortable in your hand. It's my favorite leash in 30 years. It's solid enough to move over or around my dog while walking around obstacles, but flexible enough to be comfortable for him and I to have a very enjoyable walk. Best of all, on unexpected occasions when he alerts about a chipmunk and starts to pull suddenly, it is very strong and gentle on both of us. Great leash. I haven't used it in the snow yet, and it will undoubtedly get wet, but I'll just keep two to always have a dry one. it's very affordable.

Our latest family member has chewed through two mountain leashes since we adopted her last November. We bought two of these leashes just in case she continued this pattern. It has been a month since we attached one of these leashes to her collar and it is still intact! It is a thicker leash than the previous mountain leashes we have owned and holds up well when our dog is pulling hard. The hardware latch is good quality also. The colors of the collars are vibrant also. We bought a purple one and a black one. I have not tried washing the leash, however, it has survived getting very wet twice due to our walking the dog in the rain. Update: It is now two months since we purchased these leashes and the purple leash is still intact. (We have not needed to use the black one yet.) It has gotten wet numerous times due to the Florida rainstorms and the colors are holding true. Ms Power Chewer has tried to chew the leash at least four times and it shows no marks.

I collect leashes. Or at least I have collection of them. I have short, long, leather (which I love but it is 5 feet and dog training school was calling me a cheater for being 1 foot closer than everyone else). I wanted something 6 feet and that wouldn't give me flat-nylon leash cuts, something easy to grip and comfortable to hold. This is a nice leash with a sturdy hook. I read reviews that the spring doesn't work, it can open itself, and doesn't swivel. That doesn't make sense. It is just like in the pic and it does swivel and is very sturdy. It is a thick leash so more for the large dogs. However, this is a really nice leash.

Love this leash! My pup is about 100 lbs and very strong. This leash holds up well and allows me to manage him on our long walks. I initially bought this lease in 2016 and just bought a replacement only because my dog likes to hold the leash in his mouth and wore a piece of it down. Will never go back to pet store leashes!
