  • Sounds Amazing, Super Thin though! Split way to early!
Size: 16"
This crash sounds amazing, and has a fairly quick decay. great for the punch in the face cymbal smash. Bad thing is, it is very thin. Mine split after only 1.5 years. I play hard, but not stupid. It did not stand up to heavy use on a gigging kit. It is best suited for studio play, or lighter use gigging, like jazz. ... show more

  • Great Cymbal-Poor Shipping Method
Size: 19"
4 Stars, this cymbal 19" A Custom, is by far one of the best cymbals I have owned throughout my years of playing. The cymbal has great attack, and feel. The bell gives you a lot to play with as well. Great over Cymbal. My only complaint is the method of shipping. The cymbal was delivered in a bag only. No cardboard, no Foam around the edges to prevent any damage. The cymbal was shipped to me via USPS, it did arrive quickly and on time, however I was disappointed in the lack of protection that was given to the item. It was left on my concrete porch. I opened the package holding my breath, praying it wasn't damaged. After a very thorough inspection, I did not see any signs of damage. Removed the bar code sticker and residue, put on my set, and it sounded great. Just to summarize, I would caution whoever ships these items, and that they should maybe wrap them in cardboard at least to protect the product and its edges. This cymbal, and many like it are usually a couple hundred dollars, and a significant investment to many. Zildjian is a high quality company, and would hate to see its name tarnshed by shotty or cheap shipping methods. ... show more

  • As Bright as Jesus!
Size: 16"
When my band went to record our first record, it was determined that my current cymbals at the time were as trashy Patrick Star's belly button. I decided to get some A Customs to replace my ZBT's. These things sound like God almighty's Heavenly palace in drum form. They are as bright as the sun itself and almost as beautiful as my girlfriend's smile. In the mix they cut through perfectly like scalpel being used for an autopsy. As a metal drummer, the bright sound contrasts nicely with the dark nature of the music, or to those of you who have a strong distaste for metal, that Satan scream noise stuff. Overall, this is one of the nicest cymbals I've heard. As with any cymbal, the sideways hitting technique will improve the life expectancy of it so that scalpel doesn't need to be used for many months, which is about how long my first one lasted. ... show more

  • I use it for jazz. Couldn't help it. Too pretty sounding not to.
Size: 16"
Super bright sound, solid ping, nice sustain. The antithesis of a dark/jazz ride. But it's just so lovely on the ears, I couldn't not buy it.

  • Excellent Sound and Durability
Size: 16"
I have had this cymbal for probably 4+ years now, and it has held up great. Minimal rust and tarnish and no physical damage after very hard use (although I never played it more than once a week or so). This has been my favorite cymbal in my set all along, the rest are zildjians but not A custom, except my 20" ride which is indestructible, bar none. Has a darker sound, probably due to the high thickness, but this adds durability and is truly the best sounding cymbal in my set. It can really take a beating! Highly recommend. ... show more

  • crisp and clear tone

I love this cymbal. It has a crisp clear tone. It goes well with what I play.

  • Zildjian A's great mid to upper range cymbals
Size: 16"
I'd love it if the Zildjian A's (and K's both) weren't so darn pricy. This 16 inch crash is really nice. I can crash it and ride the bell both and it plays well (tonally) with my 18 inch A series crash (which also rides well).
