Appears true to size (2-3 years fit my petite four-year-old), easy to slide onto a kid’s hand, and keeps their fingers not only warm but dry in the snow! I had previously made the mistake of getting regular gloves for a little kid who doesn’t have full control over independent fingers…the amount of frustration we could have avoided by ordering these! Love the bright colors, they’re well-made, and I will be ordering another set for my 1 year old once we get snow in the forecast!

I bought these Zelda Matilda mittens for my toddler, and they’ve been great for cold days. They’re nice and warm with the Thinsulate lining, and her hands come back in from outside still toasty instead of freezing. They also do a good job keeping snow and slush out — no soaked fingers so far. What I really like is that they stay on better than most mittens we’ve tried. The long cuff and strap help keep them in place, even when she’s climbing or playing in the snow. The only downside is that they can be a bit tricky to get on if your child is squirmy, since the cuff is snug. Once they’re on, though, they’re perfect. Overall, solid winter mittens — warm, waterproof, and durable. Not perfect, but definitely worth it.

These mittens will keep little hands cozy in the Upper Midwest. For a comparison, the thickness of these mittens is better than most, but not overly thick beyond usability for little ones. The inside is very soft. Size ranges are tricky with little ones, but for reference, I purchased the 2-3 yr mittens, and they are probably a better fit for a 3 yr old than a 2 yr old. This same brand offers an xtra long cuff for a similar price... get them. They are great as well, but are even easier to put on, and those protect the wrist from snow (just pop the cuff over the coat sleeve).
