The walls in my house are paper thin, and anytime my son was sleeping (nap or nighttime) I had to be constantly vigilant of any noises. Because my bathroom is on the side of the house past his bedroom, I would often accidentally wake him up just walking by his room. I thought about getting one of those white noise machines that plays sounds, but they seemed overengineered and unnecessary. I like the simplicity of this device, and the fact that it doesn't require internet or an app to use. My son loves it. He sleeps better, I can watch TV and walk around my house like normal and he doesn't wake up. This machine does not make weird random noises like two of the digital machines I've tried. It will make a humming vibration noise if placed on a hard surface, so I put mine on the carpet. The volume and pitch of the white noise is easily adjusted by twisting the outer cover of the unit.
