I was anticipating something more floral, but it’s a muskier, woody scent, not particularly sweet, which is a good thing for me. I purchased the large candle with the Midsummer’s Night scent. The candle was carefully packaged and arrived with no damage. I’m always hesitant with candles because I’m sensitive to strong smells and generally use unscented products or purchase things with natural scents like lavender. The smell of this candle isn’t overwhelming and is pleasant enough. The artwork and overall product design aren’t really my aesthetic but I’ve already removed the lid and I’m considering removing the label since I’ll have to do that anyway to recycle it. It was a good price for the large size because this particular scent was on sale at the time. It burns pretty clean and should last a long time. Overall I’m happy with it. We like to use candles in the cooler seasons or during the rare power outages so we try to keep a few large ones around. ... show more

I have always liked Yankee candles. This is one of my favorite scents. Their candles have always burned well for me and this is no exception. I especially like the way they are packaged and shipped. There is no way they will arrive broken to your home. That is a huge factor for me. I've purchased a couple different brands through Amazon that have arrived shattered. Only to have them replaced to have the replacement arrive shattered also. How does that? Yankee candle goes to great lengths to ensure their candles arrive to you just as they suppose to, all in one piece. This candle might be a bit strong smelling for some people, I however enjoy the deep woodsy smell this one gives off. It's also a long burning candle. Not one that you will light and then be almost empty in a few short hours. I very much like that. No one likes spending extra money on a quality candle only to have it burn down in a few short hours. Between the wonderful scents they have that are true to their name, and the longevity of their burn time, this has been bringing me back as a very happy repeat customer for years ... show more
