I decided that it was time to revamp my desk/vanity! I have a black Micke desk from Ikea and while it's a lovely style, it was looking a little lifeless. So I decided to look into what I could do to liven it up! After reading the reviews, I'll admit, I was a bit hesitant, but it was pretty cheap so I figured I didn't have much to lose. THANK GOODNESS I BOUGHT IT! When the package arrived, a little note was included explaining that they added an extra 2" to my roll because sometimes the machine used to cut the product causes damages along one of the edges (I couldn't see where, but I'm not complaining over some extra material!). The contact paper was much thicker than I thought it would be for such a low price! It feels super durable and smooth. Installation was super easy! I'm a klutz (as everyone in my life loves to remind me) and while I did mess up the cut and sizing initially, I still had enough material to start over. I ended up cutting a larger section than I needed because I was worried that I wouldn't align the paper correctly and would end up missing some spots. I slowly started on one end of my desk by peeling off a little bit of the waxed paper, sticking the contact paper to the desk, smoothing out any air bubbles with a ruler, before peeling off a bit more of the waxed paper and continuing the process over and over until my entire desk top was covered. Once the paper was completely on and all air bubbles were smoothed out, I took an exacto knife and cut off any excess paper that went over the edges of the desk. I also took a little bit of the excess material and cut a strip to put on the front of the desk right under the top to make it look like a solid marble top. Y'all. Let me tell you. My desk looks INCREDIBLE! I am in LOVE with it! The black/silver marble on the black desk gives off such a classy/gothic vibe I just *chef's kiss*. One of the benefits I've found since applying the contact paper is that my desk is sooo much easier to clean now! I use the desk to do my makeup and if I spill anything or if I get any fallout onto the desk, I can just wipe it off! No stains, no mess, no fuss! I'm considering getting a super large roll to put on our folding table for any post-covid parties! ... show more

I did not have the money to invest in new countertops for my bathroom, sadly, but it desperately needed a makeover, so I had to improvise... this definitely did the trick. I mean, sure you can kind of tell it's not real marble, but it doesn't really matter, because it looks cool anyway, especially if you accessorize wherever you're using it to evenly distribute where peoples attention will go. This stuff sticks great and would probably look killer on just about anything, not just countertops. Took my bathroom to the next level for sure, and saved me a ton of money. ... show more

Pros. Definitely sticky. Looks good if done right. Cons. Comes rolled up. Unroll it. And flatten it out before use. So I basically used this to wrap my countertop. Take your time doing this. For whatever project your doing. My problems were air bubbles. I've noticed when dealing with a air bubble. Best to use a scraper. Lifting it up once it stuck to the surface. Would create wrinkles. Once laid on. Try not to relift it. But if done right. It will look great. Holds up to a wet countertop. I wipe my countertop tip after every use. ... show more

Initially, I bought the smallest role of this product to try it out and see what it would look like on my desk. It had a bunch of scratches, and I wanted to cover it up. I fell in love with it. The metallic contrast gives it a lovely touch, and my bedroom looks much more consistent. I ended up covering the top of my side tables, dresser, and mirror panels with it. It gave my furniture a necessary upgrade without overspending. If you are tired of a piece of furniture, I recommend buying the product to give it a new look. Good product. This was the first time I have ever laid vinyl like this so it was hard for me at first. It is a good product but if you don't know what you are doing its hard. I bought a kit for laying it off amazon which helped a ton. Also i had to buy it 3 times because I would mess up and waste a bunch. I recommend buying more then you need! I bought a desk for 10$ at a Garage sale and I cover it with this and omg it looks expensive and brand New. I painted it Matt black but with the top it looks so elegant! Just follow the instructions and cut everything before you actually peal it off. I used a credit card to flat everything out.
