    • Excellent for the adult beginner
I have been a musician for several years and decided to take up the flute last summer. The Yamaha 281 is an excellent choice for the adult beginner. The head joint cut is very easy to produce a strong sound on, and the workmanship is top-notch. I have been playing the 281 for one year and have not yet needed an adjustment (Though I will do a clean/oil/adjust over the summer for basic preventative care). The in-line G is especially well suited to players with large hands like myself. All-in-all this flute is more expensive than many beginner models, but for the quality workmanship, beautiful sound, and 7-year warranty it is totally worth it. I will use this flute until I need a more advanced model, and will keep it as a backup. Do yourself a favor and get a quality flute like this if you are just starting out. ... show more
