I ordered two of these to give my granddaughters, but immediately after I ordered it I saw something that looked bigger and better and I splurged!!! Today the bigger,better,and triple the price toy arrived and I was so disappointed!!! I opened this xylophone and harmonica to compare the two,and decide which to return. This xylophone is packaged so lovely and lovingly (which I kind of ruined!) and it makes a very nice presentation as a small gift. Then I tried playing both instruments. They didn’t even compare. This was a much better sound quality. The notes on the xylophone sounded great for a toy. You and your child can play a song and recognize what you are playing. They must have fixed the problem with the mallot because mine was all one piece. I didn’t try the harmonica because I’m going to gift it. So fancy wooden xylophone, drum, cymbals, triangle and more are headed back to the store and I’m keeping this xylophone and harmonica set because it is well priced, beautifully packaged and it sounds pretty good!!! ... show more

    • Perfect for toddlers
After being disappointed at the quality and sounds of other “toy” musical instruments we purchased for our 2 year old, finally here is something she can play right out of the box and sounds great! She was so proud of her ability to play different notes right away with both, and loved playing high notes and low notes to hear the difference. She loves these, and we love the quality and sound both instruments make. The little song sheets that come with the xylophone are so great - I wish there were more! ... show more

It comes in a nice brown box but, is a Very small Xylophone, not what I expected to be for the price I paid. The key boards are somehow a bit loose I don't know if that is how they supposed to be. The Harmonica is pretty nice my grandson enjoys playing it very much. I wouldn't recommend this toy

I must say, I was impressed enough with this item to write a review - seriously the quality, craftsmanship, the sound these two instruments produce is phenomenal and also even the gift packaging kinda blew me away. I was initially concerned about the “sticks” coming loose from some of the other reviews, perhaps those are from an older version or different item entirely, because the sticks that arrived are molded durable plastic, there is no way they could possibly come apart.. another added benefit of their unique shape with The little bears on the ends where you hold them is a great idea more than just for looks, me saying “hold on to the little bears” and my little one was able to get better technique and produce better sound than she had when banging on her old fisher price one with wheels.. this one sounds awesome and I like the bars have the letter notes and the colors.. The harmonica looks and sounds pretty legit, probably the best one (maybe the only one) I have ever actually held (I kinda had to be reminded to share, lol), so I had to look up some songs and found more details on them, this one is a 10 hole (holes are numbered) and clearly labeled it is tuned to c, the letter is printed plainly so that you can hold it correctly without having to “test” it.. This has stood up to my little guy for a while now and still looks and sounds great! The harmonica was a nice bonus too! Not as easy to blow in as a Fender Harmonica but it does the trick!

    • Great except for ONE THING
Sooo... this item is actually really great. The Xylophone itself is actually very well made. No snags in the wood or overly sharp edges.. Also no weird CHEMICAL SMELL.. So there's that. However the sticks are too long & skinny for smaller children 1 because of the length, it's hard for a little kid to AIM & hit the 1 they're going for.. 2 if the child runs off w the stick it's an obvious safety hazard if they were to fall w it they could poke themselves or choke if it's in their mouth (and OF COURSE it's gonna be in their mouth 🙄😏🙃) And I would've liked for them to be THICKER, again, it's just not easy for little hands... my honest thoughts and opinions. My child is 14mo . He whistles, sings (mimics notes not words quite yet),does maracas &plays his lil drums... just to give u an idea of the child I'm basing this review on🖤 Please hit like if you found this review helpful ... show more
