    • Good for desensitizing and working pressure
This flag is a nice flag to use for desensitizing and training on a young horse. I have a three year old colt and he has been struggling with moving forward. He has a tendency to pull back. I have been using this flag to try to keep him moving forward and off of the hip rather than pulling back on me. This puts just the right amount of pressure and I like that the handle is telescoping so I can adjust the length depending on what I am doing. The only thing about this device is that the little triangle attachments where you connect the flag portion, these are very flimsy and they come open all the time. I am going to be modifying that and put a different more sturdy ring on the tip of this telescoping handle. I have already tried to pinch the triangle closed a little bit more to keep it from falling out but it has not worked. That has to be about the only thing of this item that I have discovered to be faulty. Otherwise, this is a really great tool to use for horse training , I like that it has the different colored flags. However, I am not completely sure what I will use each different color for. Horses see color a little differently than humans, so I am not sure that the horse can delineate between each different color and some different kind of request in training. ... show more

This is nice for adding some interest to spot training. The set is a good value. The extendable pole is light weight which is both a good and a bad thing. The good is that this is safe to have around a horse and will not cause any harm. The bad is that it does not seem very durable, and I am concerned that it will break easily. ... show more

    • Very nice portable training flag stick - Not super durable
This is a very nice portable training stick. It can be compressed to about 10 inches and extended to 48 inches. The flags are bright and large – 19 inches square. My only concern is that the pole can be easily over-extended and broken. We have another that appears to have the same pole and my daughter broke it the first time she excitedly waved the flag. So be careful to not be too aggressive with the pole, especially when fully extended, and it should last a while. ... show more

We’ve been wanting a set of training flags for quite some time and these have definitely fit the bill. The multiple colored flags make it easy to assign tasks and get your horse’s attention. Definitely recommend

I've started to introduce R+ training and wanted to give a clear cues. This flag/stick combination caught my eye and decided to give it a go. The stick is retractable which makes it easy to transport and store it. The flags are in several different colors and are sturdy, these are definitely holding up to the abuse of living in the backseat of my car. I even put a tennis ball on the end of the stick and the material is holding up well for my impromptu additions.     • Very professional looking
In the horse industry, we get judged worse than the horses. These flags give you a professional look while you're training in public. I used to use plastic grocery store bags, and people wanted to pay me like I used plastic grocery store bags. The telescoping is nice.
