I'm a Maleficent fan! When I saw this Inflatable dragon costume - I just HAD to have it! (I see others comparing it to Charizard.....Wasn't he brown?) Any-who....I love this! The description doesn't seem to say it anywhere - but as this connects to the battery pack via USB - you could TOTALLY use a portable battery pack. I have a few for my cell phones and I used a big brick one - that would last way longer than the 4 AA battery pack! NOTE ON FIT: I am a 5'10 female. This costume was a little tight as far as the foot holes ended up way above my ankles and the arms were a little "off place" I feel like this costume would be BEST fit for someone who is 5"7 or under. I also wish that the arms/hands had adjustable velcro or the elastic like the legs do - to leave an opening for your hands to be outside. As it is, it comes with your hands fully enclosed inside the arms. AND....It is REALLY hard to get your arms out as your arms are going to be VERY sweaty! This is a real nuisance if you need to do anything - for instance....... GETTING THE ZIPPER OPEN & CLOSED!! This is a major problem. The zipper "handle" is on the OUTSIDE of the costume! Remember, above I said your hands are enclosed IN the costume - so you CANNOT zip/unzip this yourself! Sure, you might have someone around to help you - but what if you need to go to the bathroom? I am going to fix THIS problem by tying a piece of ribbon through the zipper and then tying a few knots in there so I can grab it through the costume (Again, my hands are inside the costume). Still - I do stand by the fact that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this costume! I just wish it was made for someone a little taller, had a better zipper pull configuration AND that the hands could access the outside of the costume! Or at least HAVE a dragon! I'm 5'6" and this fits like a dream for me. It does get a bit warm so the ideal thing to wear inside would be an athletic outfit like a sports bra/tank and bike shorts. It's easier to move around in light, fitted clothing. Using a power bank is much easier than using batteries, I will say. This costume was a hit and I can see us using it multiple times with different pairings, both serious and ridiculous. It's always good to have something like this laying around. So I have gotten several inflatable costumes lately. They're so much fun for both the kids and myself. Plus they make Halloween a breeze. This costume is the nicest I've gotten by far. My only caveats to that are that it isn't for really real people (I'm 6ft and it's not for me) and the zipper is best managed with another person around. I'm 5 foot 9 and this is a bit small for me. Can't wear it comfortably sadly. I CAN wear it, just kind of have to be hunched to fit it and it feels like I'm going to rip it lol. For a shorter person, this would be great! Decent quality and fair price.
