  • Great scooter for the price
I also own the Navee v25 scooter and will be comparing the two in this review. This scooter is small compared to the Navee, which is super comfortable but more than double the price of this Ridel XS1. It also has smaller, much harder wheels and is jolting to ride on rough pavement. The accelerator is jumpy and it’s hard to accelerate at a smooth pace. However, all that being said, I prefer this scooter to the Navee v25. I am 5’3” and this scooter is the perfect size for me. It folds and locks in place easily, and isn’t too heavy to carry a short distance. It has very cool features: hit power once and you can go up to 7 mph, which is great when you’re just starting out. Hit power again and you enter mode 2 (clearly visible on the display screen), which allows you to go up to 13 mph. This scooter topped out for me at a speed of 13 mph on flat ground. Hit power 5 times in a row to enter a mode that allows you to accelerate the scooter from a standstill rather than pushing with your foot and accelerating while the tires are rolling (the default mode). I wouldn’t recommend using this mode for beginners. The scooter shot out from under me when I tried it. It’s easier and more intuitive to accelerate from motion. Another cool feature is cruise control. Once you’ve been traveling at the same speed for six seconds, you’ll hear a beep. You can then take your thumb off the accelerator and continue at the same speed. Nice for resting your hand. Just tap the accelerator or the break to get out of cruise control mode. At that point, when you let off the accelerator you will slow down as expected. The accelerator is jerky and the breaks are too. The Navee scooter has much smoother acceleration and breaking. However, the Navee doesn’t have cruise control or any other features. If I had to pick one scooter I would choose this one. Great value at this price. ... show more

  • Actually a decent midpoint between an "Adult" and "Childs" scooter
Will this safely fit and transport a smaller adult or a "Portly" Teenager - yes. Will it give the performance of a true ADULT scooter for things like commuting, etc - I just can't see it. I'm 5'5 and 205lbs (so i qualify as a bit unfit or "Portly" myself, LOL) and i own 2 actual "Adult" scooters that I use 1 to go get the mail at the end of my 2mi driveway at home during the warmer months as well as keep the other at my vacation condo to run to the store about .7mi away when i overwinter in the South ,,, THIS is again, NOT a $2200 scooter for an adult but definitely also isn't a kids toy. I want to go into a rant about teenagers today, because as a teen in the 70's i would have lost my MIND if i had something so cool - but now, I get passed on the street by 10 year olds running 30mph plus on scooters so I guess it's a matter of perspective ... All in all, I would have to summarize the target for this scooter as a young person transitioning from a kids toy scooter to a real one (without putting them at risk of injury, etc and buying them a monster they can't handle) All that opinion stated, yes it does hit 14.4mph with ME on flat ground, and it actually gets there fairly assertively without being agressive. Ride and build are as to be expected from a lighter, entry-level scooter, another 10lbs would go a LONG way in stability but the ergonomics are good and the controls are actually decent and responsive. I guess 4 stars is appropriate, providing You understand what You are buying. Is this a $1500-2k "daily driver" to get You to and from work, no way. Is it a great option for upgrading your kid to an electric they can actually ride to school, practice, or somewhere other than around the block? YES. 5 stars for that situation. ... show more

  • Great electric scooter at a fantastic price!
This scooter is the real thing. Very capable and well-constructed. Simple assembly only requires attaching handlebar with 4 screws. I have to say on mine the screws were very hard to turn in, and I was glad they provided quality hardware and Allen wrench. The force required to make them tight were enough to 'round' most of the cheap tools you usually get with a product. On the bright side, they will not be coming out. Wheels and all else are already assembled. The folding mechanism requires you to be careful with the wire, as you could possibly pinch the wire if you do not make sure it is tucked inside. Also, the little red locking button to fold it is harder to use than it should. That's all I have for negatives. The rest, and most importantly functionality, is great! Throttle and brake work perfect. The throttle has a beginner stage, and also an instant on stage (as opposed to rolling a bit to start up). Smooth power, up to speed quickly and quietly, and battery seems to last quite some time. Rubber tires give nice ride. Wide, non-slip deck. Brake works well, but rear foot brake is a nice emergency brake to have at your disposal. Brake light, and even small headlight that is pretty bright! Kickstand holds up just fine. Not a lot of specs in the description, so I will display here: Motor: 250W Battery: 36v/5.0Ah Charging time: 4-6 hrs Display: LED Frame: Aluminum Alloy/ABS/PC Wheel size: 6.5in Climbing Degree: 15 deg Weight Limit: 220lbs At this price point, I 100% recommend! ... show more

  • Nice scooter
It's fast enough without feeling dangerous. It's easy to use an understand the controls. It's a great mid sized scooter for a shorter person. I'm tall and prefer my larger scooter but I'd day this is probably better for someone 5'5" and under while not being so small it's child sized. The only thing I can't test right now is hill climbing power and range because it's winter. We only rode it indoors. Will update if I notice anything necessary to be mentioned once we use it on sidewalk and hills. ... show more
