  • SPIDER-MAN GRIP, IRON MAN STRENGTH (and also great for manual labor jobs)
Size: 8.5 Color: Black
I originally bought these hiking boots in 2018 for a camping trip to Enchanted Rock, TX. When I first tried them on, they were pretty stiff but incredibly sturdy and comfortable. I broke them in during our trip, hiking trails and doing some bouldering. I wore thick wool socks one day and regular white Nike tube socks another day, but the boots weren't too tight and fit nicely with a little wiggle room if I wore thinner socks. I didn't end up with any blisters, and they were extremely warm and kept my feet cozy. If you've ever been to Enchanted Rock, you know there are a lot of vertical slopes and steep-incline rock faces, but I FELT LIKE SPIDER-MAN SCALING A GLASS SKYSCRAPER because these boots gave me incredible grip and didn't bend or crease at all. Even after walking through dirt, sand, and dust, these gave me the best traction and not once did I feel anxious about slipping the way I would if I was wearing some regular Nike or Adidas running shoes. I was also shocked at how light they felt on my feet and didn't have the clunky, heavy drag of other types of rubber hiking boots. As for being waterproof, they performed just as I expected, passing with flying colors. No amount of mud or rain could infiltrate the seams, and my feet stayed nice and dry after traipsing through muddy fields and rain all day. Fast forward two years to 2020 and they are still in great shape after countless camping trips and hikes. They're a little dusty, but besides that, the laces haven't frayed, the rubber hasn't cracked or started peeling, and the insulation and comfort inside is still super cozy and supportive. I started working at a car shop as a mechanic, and I had planned on ordering some new steel-toed work boots, but in the meantime I wore my Xpeti's. I was once again amazed at how sturdy yet comfortable they were, and even though I have dropped heavy metal wrenches on my feet, stubbed my toes on solid metal machines, and almost had my feet lightly torched, these boots have completely protected my feet. The hard rubber shell around the toe is thick and inflexible, and combined with the padding inside, it prevents anything from actually crushing or banging into my feet- hence the "Iron Man Strength" I mentioned in my headline. And despite being on my feet all day, once again they are extremely comfortable while still providing the support I need. Overall, I would buy these boots 10x over because of how much I love them. They are not only lightweight, have great grip, and are incredibly warm, dry, and comfortable, but they are super sturdy and protect my feet from any damage. If you're looking for a pair of hiking boots, look no further because these are just what you need. It is now 2023 (about to be 2024) and this is my five year update: still going strong. I joined the military and had new boots issued to me for my uniform and let me tell you- these Xpeti’s outdo “military-grade” in every aspect. They’re still sturdy and grippy as ever and I would wear them every day with my uniform if I could. Since my last update I got to test these out in snow and ice (against my will) when we got snowed in at Palo Duro Canyon over a weekend and every part of my body was freezing except for my feet. Yet again they were warm and dry despite trudging through wet snow and ice sludge, and are still no worse for wear. I guess I’ll be doing another update in two years, but I just might run out of good things to say about these boots 😂 ... show more

  • Excellent medium-budget but high quality hiking boot
Size: 11 Color: Black
I bought these for a week-long trip to Iceland filled with lots of hiking. I didn't want to drop a fortune on hiking boots since I didn't plan on using them after, but at the same time I didn't want to cheap out and be uncomfortable the whole time. This seemed like a happy medium. Well, these worked out perfectly!! They are so comfortable and the ankle support felt really secure. They are clunky, but it is kind of to be expected with such a rugged winter hiking boot. They kept my feet warm and provided good traction. The only thing is, these run very small. I usually wear a size 9 or 10, so I sized up and went with the 10. Ultimately I ended up having to size up to 11. If you're in between sizes, I'd recommend going up a full size past the upper end of what you normally wear. ... show more

  • The quality is not very good (they pay attention to feedback), fit confy and look nice
Size: 8 Color: Black
I finally have time to sit and write this review. They fit comfortably, look nice, and got a little wet without being in contact with a lot of water (maybe I didn't tie them properly, I am not sure) I will test them again to see. The only reason I am giving this boots 3 stars is because of the quality of the material. Unfortunately they started to rip or come apart (see attached images) not even a month after I got them. I bought them a few months back in May. If the quality was better and would still be in good condition being that they were ordered only a few months back and only used in about 10 moderate and not super long hikes in Alaska, I would have given them 5 stars. Update: It appears that Xpeti stands by their brand and they offered and gave me a refund for these boots. I appreciate their excellent customer service and would like to give this brand another chance. ... show more

  • For the otherwise barefoot hiker
Size: 8.5 Color: Black
This is my first ever pair of hiking boots. I never spend more than $20 on shoes because I rarely ever wear them. I literally HATE shoes. I walk/climb barefoot and always have, everywhere I go. Since I had to move back to Illinois (from Florida) where it will be cold soon, I realized I was going to need some boots. I bought these for a few reasons. #1) I read they're good snow boots as well as hiking boots. #2) because I will not buy nor wear leather and #3) I really really liked the look of them. I ordered a half size up for the purpose of thick socks. I'm glad I did. I think you should probably go a half size up even if you don't plan on wearing thick socks. Here's my review so far: I absolutely love these. They are pretty stiff which is something I like. I don't like squishy. I usually feel very off balance in boots but with these I do not. I have a pretty flat and wide foot and these are really comfortable even straight out of the box. I was worried the arch of these boots would hurt my feet but it doesn't. So if you have a flat foot, I highly recommend these. They are also protective, as promised. Within 5 minutes of putting these on, my 4 year old fell off his skateboard and it went flying straight into my ankle. I didn't feel a thing. Anyone who's ever been hit in the ankle with a skateboard knows it's a fate worse than death. lol. That was the moment I knew I made the right choice. These truly are 100% waterproof. I walked a good 10 minutes through a creek just above my ankle. My feet stayed dry the whole time. Also- I climbed up/down a 15ft muddy hill that was so steep it literally looked like a wall. These boots have some serious grip. I thought I was going to fall backwards or slide down the whole time but I didn't. It didn't even seem physically possible. lol. I never would've been able to do that without them. On top of all that, they come with a 12 month warranty which is awesome. I don't know what else I can say about how much I love these. I can't think of a single thing wrong with them. I'm impressed. Xpeti just made my forever list! ... show more
