We bought our pickup truck used and it came with a cut/tear on the driver's side seat. It is too expensive to have the seat professionally repaired, so I just wanted something to help keep the tear from getting worse. This leather repair tape seems to be a good solution. I cut a patch to completely cover the tear, but made it long enough to tuck down into the seams of the upholstery – with the hope that will help hold the patch in place. I rounded the exposed corner of the patch as I feel that will help keep it from lifting when I slide in and out of the seat of the truck. The tape was easy to cut and the adhesive was much stronger than I expected. It would be great if the tape was the same color all the way through – as you can see the white side edge. (Wish I would have thought to run a permanent black marker around the edge before I put the patch on.) Time will tell if this patch is able to withstand the excessive heat and excessive cold that can happen in a vehicle. So far (I've driven the vehicle twice since putting the patch on) I am pleased with the way the tape performs. ... show more

Used to patch a small hole on this chair and a larger rip on the others. It's a warm black and not a cool black, so it doesn't really blend in on one of the chairs. It's better for small holes than big ones.

I have an unsightly upholstery wear ‘spot’ on my driver’s seat back bolster. It’s typical of these seats. I have NEVER been someone who patches any type of upholstery. However, until I budget the $500 for the OEM seat upholstery of the $1400 seat back, I’m trying this tape (under cover of darkness) to provide a ‘temporary fix’. The value of this review will be when I circle back with a report. I did gently radius the corners as I think that may help the corners survive better than an abrupt triangle? The spot is on a much used part of the seat, so this I suggest will be a real test of endurance for this patch. Watch this space. ... show more

My son was afraid to tell me his gaming chair was ripping because of the way he sits in it with his feet on it and pulling on the seat. He was thrilled when he saw I "fixed" it today. It's not perfect. It would be more like 4 stars on a couch or something else. However, the black tape matched his chair perfectly. It's noticeable when you stare at it and can see the edges of the tape -- there are 2 pieces on the left side seams that run to the center. I was kicking myself for not taking photos first because one was so severe the stuffing was sticking out. So, all in all, for a few bucks, a very easy fix. Besides making a huge difference in the appearance, it also gave a nice grip, so I would recommend it for that. It adhered very well, despite my removing and re-wrapping a couple times, which was surprising. The toy axe came in 3 plastic parts which screwed together and looked really cheap and fake. After wrapping the handle completely in this tape and adding some additional leather lacing, it went from something a toddler would have to a reasonably presentable prop. I could see using it this tape cover or embellish other costume pieces to hide anachronisms. It's very soft and flexible, and looks nice. And the price is great (currently 8 bucks). ... show more

I bought this to repair my office chair. I sit at an L shaped desk and didn't realize that my chair had worn a hole on the side of my chair that touches the long side of desk. I'm not sure if my repair job on my office chair was worth it after using this tape. I guess it's better to try to protect my chair from tearing further, but while the color/texture of this tape matches my chair very well, it still draws attention to the repair because of the white seams on the sides of the tape. The contrast is too great not to notice against black leather. My bigger concern is that the adhesion is poor. The tape regularly frees itself from the surface of my chair although I did follow the instructions and applied it on a cleaned surface. Perhaps the unseasonably hot and humid weather where I live is making good adhesion a challenge? I do appreciate, though, that no residue is left on my chair. I just wanted to patch a small tear, so I'll use the rest of this roll to regularly cover the tear each time the tape peels and frays. Short of re-upholstery , though, this tape is an okay (not great) temporary solution to covering the tear. ... show more

I have my office chair and wheelchair that were showing incredible wear and tear, let alone the marks from the kitties. The adhesive tape was very easy to apply. Cut a strip and removed the backing and applied. Went on easily and the adhesive is holding. My only complaint is that the one side shows a white edge but after pressure and wear the white edge is merged into the leather of the chair so it looks almost as good as new.
