    • Demand-operated airbrush compressor; does the job quite nicely.
I normally use an Iwata Studio Series airbrush compressor that is the same size and form factor as this unit. The Iwata runs continually once turned on, with excess pressure going through a relief valve during operation. This unit doesn't have a relief valve, so runs until it reaches a maximum of 50psi, then cuts off, coming back on quickly once you start the airbrush. The unit then maintains about 30psi (this will depend on your airbrush) and runs continuously while you are spraying. Once you stop, it quickly gets back to 50psi and turns off. There is a regulator on top of the unit that allows you to lower the maximum pressure. Anything below 30psi will then be maintained as soon as you begin spraying. At first I thought the regulator didn't work - you have to unscrew it quite a ways to reach the point at which it starts to engage, and once I realized this I was all set. There's a moisture drain which can be utilized when necessary by simply pushing up on the valve. The compressor runs at a reasonable sound level, about the same as the Iwata. The unit comes with an inexpensive double-action gravity-feed airbrush with two translucent plastic paint bowls, making this entire setup a perfectly nice beginner's kit. I found the unit to work quite nicely, and I was surprised to find that I liked the fact that the unit doesn't run continuously. Less noise pollution and no noticeable impact on spraying. Don't forget to drain the air from the compressor once you're done with your session. This can be done through the airbrush. Iwata compressors are generally thought to have high quality materials and I can't speak to how long-lasting this compressor will be in comparison, but I don't see any obvious skimping of materials and the entire unit is starting out as desired. ... show more

    • A wonderfully quiet air compressor.
The XDovet Airbrush Dual Fan Air Storage Tank Compressor System Kit is an excellent starter Airbrush kit and comes with everything you need to get started except the paint. It has soft rubber feet to keep from moving around and absorb any vibration wile the pump is running. The hose is about six feet long and uses standard 1/8" fittings. My favorite things about this pump are how quiet it is when running and that it shuts off automatically when not spraying. Great for small painting projects. ... show more

It has everything you need, including the air brush gun, and the air compressor. It all seems to be good quality and well made. The compressor has suction cup feet to hold it in place and keep it from walking while it's running.
