This is the rolls royce of protective cases. It has a silicone insert that cradles the phone snugly within the outer plastic shell. The insert in my mind is key, as other boxes I looked at (and the one I bought and returned) seemed to just be thin outer shells, looking cool, but flimsy. The corners of the X-belmox are reinforced for impact protection, and the box is a little deeper than the phone itself, kind of curling over the circumference of the phone, so if dropped the box takes the hit. Also, it comes with a screen protector (which many other boxes don't). I read on some review that it bubbled and I've heard that some screen protectors make 'tapping' more difficult. So I didn't initially install the screen protector instead keeping the one I already had on. Well, I dropped my phone twice now and the screen didn't crack. However, My old screen protector cracked slightly so I pulled it off and used the new one that came with the purchase. I was able to compare the feel of the old protector against the new one expecting the new one to feel more bulky and unwieldy, which it wasn't. I would give this case a 5 star review if it included a MagSafe ring on the back because my iPhone SE 2022 supports wireless charging and use MagSafe accessories. I prefer this kind of three-piece exoskeleton case with two hardshell layers on the front and back wrapped around a softer internal case on the inside. My previous cases of this type used silicone for the inner jacket, but this case uses a semi-soft amorphous thermoplastic polyurethane (TPC) for the inner jacket. Like my previous exoskeleton cases, the inner jacket has exposed bumpers on all four corners for shock absorption and to transfer the shock load to the inner jacket, but whether or not TPC does a better job of absorbing shocks than an inner jacket of silicone remains to be seen. This case has a very solid build quality comparable to the OtterBox series. The outer shell has a rough textured surface that improves grip considerably over the other cases made by this manufacturer. ... show more

I love this hone case, it's more protective than previous phone cases I've had. It definitely has its value in comparison to the price I paid ($9 bucks at the time). It's ease to install it using the manual and it has a perfect amount of thickness for protection and doesn't feel like a brick in your hand. Do be aware that it can be a bit of a long and frustrating process to remove the case if you need to change sim cards or need to clean your phone. I do notice that my do not disturb button is pretty dusty while in this case, however it is an exposed button. Overall, my phone is safe from falls and when I'm a clumsy ox; is a bit difficult to clean parts of the phone with the case on but it's a fair trade off. ... show more

My first choice for a phone case to replace my Otterbox case, was another Otterbox. It had lasted four years, and effectively protected my phone while being softly smooth, sleek and easy to withdraw from my pocket. The X-belmox Heavy Duty Phone Case effectively protects my phone, and is perfectly designed to fit my iPhone SE 2020, including all function buttons and ports. But it is hard plastic (on the outside), and the design is a bit clunky and awkward, compared to the Otterbox. However, the rubbery inner sleeve, into which the phone easily fits before assembling the outer, hard plastic case, feels softer than the Otterbox case. Because its purpose is to cushion shocks to the phone inside the case, I believe this will work at least as well as the Otterbox, if not better. Assembling the outer case is a little complicated, but, I have experience with previous similar cases, and it wasn't too time-consuming. The case includes a separate glass screen protector, which is a real plus. The screen protector went on with greater ease than any I have ever installed. And, while I was anxious about the rough surface of the case catching on my pants pocket when I try to remove it, that never happened at all. It's easy to take out of my pocket. The only other problem I have observed, is that the phone does not charge as easily on the wireless charger in my car. It does charge, just not very quickly. Overall, this is a good, solid case. It is relatively heavy and plain, complicated to assemble, and definitely not sleek and smooth. Don't get me wrong, it's not ugly. It is an excellent value, especially with the included screen protector, and I expect it to last and give great service. I would have paid more than double for another Otterbox, and not have gotten better protection for my phone. The case arrived, undamaged, within the scheduled delivery time. ... show more
