I was more than happy with my Wyze Cam Version 3. But Version 4 brings sharper resolution, advanced motion detection, smarter alerts and overall better image and dynamic range. You still have to add a Micro SD card to activate constant recording. I use a 32GB card that spans the last 48 hours at any time. There's just one catch with this Version 4. To use video recording and motion detection latest Wyze cameras, you need to buy a the $1.99/month subscription. Otherwise, this is very reliable camera. I've owned every version of the wyze cam and this version is the last I'll buy. The night vision and video quality is better on the v3. This version is full pay to play. Yes you can buy an SD card and record however if you want any ai or recording tracking features it's pay pay pay. I use an SD card so it's not an issue to me but the video quality is. Night vision color quality is nowhere near as good as the v3 version. ... show more

Long time Wyze cam user, this was an upgrade for my V2 cams that still worked and functioned great, and honestly not much different from these in a window mount application. Which yes, they do work with the existing window mounts. My problem is connectivity, I setup 4 cams, and they were a huge PITA to get working. It seems as every change I made I had to reset my WiFi for it to take effect, but getting to the point of finding that out took a ton of frustration. I also honestly prefer the older interface of video scrubbing vs these new cams. Lastly, others are complaining about night vision, but it’s definitely better, if anything it’s equal to the V2, not worse. The viewing angle is also worse than the V2, I remember I could see some things at the edge of my yard that I can no longer view now, not a big deal for the quality increase. I have not tested sound but I’m sure it can’t be worse than the V2 which was abysmal. ... show more

Super easy to setup, mount… if using outdoors, I do recommend purchasing their outdoor powder adapter! I already ordered mine. Quality is great, two way audio is a good volume. Don’t have to worry about neighbors hearing it. Soren did scare my dog when I tested it out haha. I did install a SD card that I found on Amazon- 2 pack for $16 after coupon. Before buying this I was unable to find information about whether this v4 camera would work with the Wyze Lamp Socket that was previously only compatible with the v3 cameras. For those unaware the Lamp Sockets allow powering the camera from an outside lamp fixture while controlling the function of the lamp and can form their own networks to operate multiple fixtures. I was very pleased to find that this v4 camera is powered from the Lamp Socket and has full functionality to operate networked Lamp Sockets while retaining the function of its built in spotlight. I've had Wyze cameras since they were introduced. Been with them through all the different upgrades and updates. I've loved the pricing and yet good quality and being able to record to sd card and even person detection. But now this company is getting a little too rich for their own good. Good camera- have an eero mesh system that it connects to and the video is excellent. The mic works well too, picks up birds singing outside clear as a bell, much better then the v3. Had it for a couple of weeks and haven’t had any issues so far.
